Modeling general discussion
Anyone living in Green Bay area
I am in the Green Bay area for a couple of months and I was wondering what kind of railroading there is to see in the area? I am going to the railroad museum tomorrow and I have looked up a couple of hobby shops to visit. Is there any thing else either prototype of model I should see while I am here?

Testing grout for ballast on my CNJ Bronx Terminal layout
Testing grout for use as ballast.
After much deliberation I decided the next step in construction would be to start ballasting the trackwork. To be honest, I have been dreading this, as my experience with ballasting is it can make or break a layout. Getting the colours and texture right is critical to creating a good model of the original.
Shopping for models by era.
Have you all ever wondered why you cannot shop online for a freight or passenger car by era? I think this would make peoples shopping easier. Also people wouldn't have to try to read build dates on a small photo. Where do you go and how many people would it take to get a change like this to happen?
Is the Aztek A480 Airbrush Set a good set for model railroaders
I am rather new at model railroading and would like to get into weathering cars, for which you need a airbrush. I wanted to know if the Aztek A480 Airbrush Set is a good airbrush for this?
Thanks in advance
Joey

Good U.S. dealer for Peco C75?
I have a track plan that I saw on Byron Henderson's site. It is based on the "Virginian" project layout that MR is featuring right now. Byron's version uses Peco C75 turnouts and my normal dealer, MB Klein, apparently does not carry them. I'd like to investigate the cost of doing this plan so does anyone know a reliable U.S. dealer that carries the line at a good price?
Thanks,
Michael

In and out Trains
I was having problems with train routing on my Port Road layout. I didn't have enough room to include both the Columbia Branch and the Atglen and Susquehanna Junctions in and near Columbia PA. So my initial solution was to model the modern era in which the A&S has been abandoned and only two trains a day operate on the Columbia Branch.

Saskatoon All Aboard 2012 Train Show
Alrighty, so I managed to take in a couple hours at the All Aboard 2012 train show in Saskatoon again this past weekend despite it being a very busy weekend for me. I'm fortunate to have been in town for the last three shows in a row and I'm glad I didn't miss this one. Once again, the show was a potpourri of scales, modelling, scenic work and plywood pacifics. We even had North American Rail Car from Vancouver come out with a display of their latest grain cars and coal cars, as well as put on a talk about model railroad manufacturing.

Is It Just Me
Is it just me, or does the Loram Rail Grinder look like its a product of Gerry Anderson's model shop, ready to be used in an upcoming episode of The Thunderbirds?

Heading to Hartford Area - What to See?
Alrighty, I've just got sign off to go to the Hartford area for a week from April 22-29. We are debating pulling the kids out of school for the week, but we would like to know what is there to entertain them. If they are going to be bored, it would be better to save the money and keep them at home. But also, what are some train-related must-sees for me?
