Modeling general discussion
Weekly Photo Fun - July 29th to August 4th, 2016
Awesome work everyone last week! Time to start of this week's photo thread!
As always, we get as much out of your in-process photos as we do the highly polished "all done" shots!

Promoting the Hobby
I just wanted to find out what fellow modelers around the world are doing to promote our hobby. I definitely want to congratulate Joe Fugate and his staff for the great job they are doing promoting the hobby with MRH, TMTV, and this website and forum. I would like to point out what our local modular club, (Southeast Texas Model Railroad club) does to help promote the hobby. We attend between 5 and 9 train shows yearly in Eastern Texas, (the number is down the last two years because less shows available), and display our modular layout.
Easy home made decals, without decal paper
Not sure if everyone will be able to see this video but this has to be the coolest, easiest way I have ever seen for making decals. It says for labeling but I see a whole bunch of model railroading ideas in this.

Microlux airbrush acrylic vs. brush acrylic
Question and answer moved to the official MRH Acrylic Painting Guide Q&A topic so it's immortalized for ALL who have the book.
A visit with Boone Morrison
My first office in Hilo (Hawaii) was on the second floor of a 1950's building with a restaurant below. Adjacent is a building that, at the time, was vacant and in need of repair but had been the headquarters of a large sugar plantation (and controlling interest in the long gone Hawaii Consolodated Railway).

My visit to Michael Rose's today 7-23-16
Today the Mrs. and I visited Michael and his Mrs. for a wonderful meal, great conversation, and of course, some model railroading. Here are some pictures from my visit:
While the ladies discussed whatever it is that ladies discussed Michael & I went to his layout building (that's right.....it's a building, not just a room) where he showed me a number of neat German locos including this HO unit he just received.

Latest video - Layout Update #4 Benchwork/Painting Locomotives
I thought some might enjoy our latest video - Layout Update #4
In this video we build the main benchwork and follow Brandon as he customizes locomotives for our freelance theme. With some much needed humor, we cover a variety of interesting topics related to benchwork construction and painting and detailing our locomotives.
Enjoy and have a great weekend, Joey Ricard

I found no photo fun thread for July 15-21st, so it looks like we dropped the ball, folks. (Correction, Jeff found it here!)
I'm starting the one this week!
