Sad day for the P&W
Today is a sad day for me as the P&W is no more. Remember watching this railroad for as long as I can remember as seeing the locos and rolling stock as I traveled through the center of Worcester as they a nice yard right there along with Union Station that serves both Amtrak and the MBTA.
I guess going forward there will be no more models in the P&W color scheme. I guess ebay will become my friend to find more P&W locos and rolling stock.
Epoxy resin: any idea what's going on here?
I've got some Loctite 2-part epoxy (the 5 minute setting type) that's probably three or four years old. The resin component, which is normally clear, has turned white and gelled. While it originally was a thick clear fluid, it's now something closer to toothpaste or putty and can no longer be squeezed out of the bottle:
Something 'out of state' from Australia
I thought I would stop lurking and add something for a change. I live in Western Australia and decided to model a town in the country. I decided on a place called Tammin which has 2 types of grain silos so I saw this as a challenge. I do N scale as I can fit enough in a small area.
I scratchbuilt all my structures, train and wagons. I also used my 3D printer to do about 1/3 of the layout. When I was finished I took it down the railway line and photographed my N scale model. This was the result.

Cel, phone article photography
Is it even possible to take photos with my cell phone that would be good enough for publication in MRH? Is it worth trying? Any tips if it's feasible? Other camera options are not an option right now.
Thanks

Economical Layout Lighting
I have some basic inexpensive shop lights in my layout room T8 4' bulbs 5k temperature - four fixtures. I need more lighting on the other side and brighter lighting over my yard. I'm looking to add 2 to 4 more four foot fixtures which are economical to buy and operate which, at least temporarily I can run along side my fluorescent lights.
Can anyone suggest some four foot fixtures LED based which offer more lumens than the standard 32W 4' 5k fluorescent light fixture, and some possilbe sources to buy (links).
TIA! Jim Fitch

Meet Me in St. Loueee...2016 RPM Meet
Attended my first ever RPM event this past Fri/Sat in st. Louis. What a fabulous time. The modeling was superb, so much to see. The vendors had oodles of stuff to look thru, especially photos. There were several outfits that I spent an inordinate amount of time looking thru their pics. But, the best part were the people. I saw some friends, connected with internet friends face to face (thanks for the hospitality John!), and made numerous new friends. There was not a pretentious person in the room.

I was about to upload a picture and noticed it was time for a new Weekly Photo Fun.
This is a picture of West Side Lumber Shay # 12 visiting the yard. The 3 truck Shay is a brass PBL engine in Sn3 ( S scale 3 foot narrow gauge ) it has a LokSound DCC decoder installed.

Here is a short youtube video of the Shay on the programming track.
Adding wire to telephone poles?
I am modeling my first N scale layout and am wondering if I should run wires for my telephone poles. It seems to me I see lots of photos and videos where there are no wires, just poles. Is the detail so unnoticeable that it doesn't matter? I'm sure it's a matter of taste but I would love to know others thoughts.

What could these be?
First of all I model in N scale. I am diabetic and take insulin daily. I have A LOT of these needle protectors. I am looking for ideas for what to use them for. I know the smaller ones could easily become a chimney on a building. Both sizes could make loads for flatcars or gondolas. Any other thoughts?
By the way, if anyone could use a few of these you can have them for the postage. Thanks in advance for your help. Photos will be in the next post.
