Basement Layout Build
Hello,
So I've been working on a layout in my basement. I've constructed some of the benchwork and laid down some track. Since no one else in my house cares about my hobby, I figured I'd post here and share my progress. If you like/dislike something, feel free to let me know.

Details, Details.....and Storage
When I moved to the USA I had all my Models, Modeling Supplies and Tools packed into crates. My new wife's home was very small and I had no room to unpack and do any modeling. We purchased a new home but still had little room to model and the only place I had to work was on the dining room table, eventually I got a Roll Top desk to be able to do modeling in the lounge. The problem was finding the parts for any project I wanted to complete as they were still packed away.

Historical Kits????
Last weekend I went to the Syracuse train show at the fairgrounds and picked up a structure kit. It's the Ramesy Station that Railroad Model Craftsman had in their magazine back in the early 80's. The vendor had two of them. I picked the "original", board and batten station. He had a second kit that is of the modernized version station with stucco. This weekend I went to the Batavia train show.

Making a mountian from a mole hill - Misti Mountain on my previous Richlawn RR
I'm not sure that I shared the details on making my mountain on my previous railroad (which now resides at the city landfill) so I'm posting a blast from the past
Yard control panel made with Cricut
I finally completed the control panel for one of my yards. I am happy with the way it came out, but it was a pretty long journey, and I am sure that I could have used other techniques to make a control panel more quickly. But, I was intrigued by the thought of making the control panel out of styrene sheet and cutting out the various openings using a Cricut Explorer cutting machine.

SIMPLE AND EASY USE OF PERMANENT MAGNET FOR KADEE UNCOUPLING WITHOUT UNWANTED UNCOUPLING
Hi
See many questions about Rapido uncouplers, but here is very simple way to use permanent magnet.
Friend of mine and myself discover this so simple trick just because of some error manipulation when installing permanent magnet on a layout.
We all know permanent magnet work well, but when this magnet is placed on a important running track, some unwanted uncoupling happen time by time.
Here is the trick,

LED lighting re-install on my Richlawn Railroad
As many of you know I previously converted the room lighting on my railroad from track lighting using halogen lights to LED using the Michael Rose designed boards available through Bill B. You can see information on that conversion HERE.

Help identifying layout from WGH show in Atlanta
Earlier this year at the World's Greatest Hobby show in Atlanta there was one particularly impressive (modular?) HO layout. While I took a few photos (like the one below), I didn't catch the name of it or the group behind it. Can anyone help identify it? Thanks!
