Time for a new WPF!  I hope you'll all show us what you've been up to, completed or in-progress.

Photo Tour - Last Hurrah

My formerly free Photobucket account dies in about a month. I figure what better way to celebrate being able to use free photo hosting for the last decade than to recap some of the highlights from my account over the years? I’m sure this will hit the bandwidth quota real quick so I can’t guarantee how long the pics will stay....

The Expense of the hobby.

First, I am not complaining about the cost of doing model railroading. It is what it is and it's not a life or death matter so if I can't afford it, it doesn't happen. I think we get great value for our dollar when it comes to the quality and level of detail of today's modern locomotives and rolling stock. I do this for relaxation so I think it's money well spent but many things come before model railroading.

Free Photo Stacking Software

Seems like there has been much discussion on focus /phot stacking. For the last few weeks I have looked through different methods and software. In my search I came across a photography blog by Ruben Larsson. http://rubenlarsson.blogspot.com/2008/12/merge-photos-with-different-focus.html In his blog he discussed using Combine ZM software for stacking (it's free). He clearly wrote the steps from start to finish. And I have to say, there aren't many and it's fairly simple.

I know the photo is upside down -- but after trying to upload 10 times I gave up.

Weekly Photo Fun, December 5-11

Okay, let's get this started for this week!

This was one of several focus stacking photos I took for the ScaleTrains.com Tier IV article, showing the treadplate design, the Canadian specific walkway grates, and even a look at the fuel meter on the side of the tank -

Basic motor tools needed ore so, for build our models in a long model builder carrier.

After more than 30 years of modeling the following list of tools is what I have acquired for making my models.

First, price is not the scope of this topic, just a reflection about the tools I use and some wish list.

Most of the tools I use are really specialized hobbyist tools.

The scope of this topic is to share a list of some specific tools I have used since a long time, and hope to receive some remarks and may be some suggestions of other very helpful tools.

MR Digital Archive

Does anyone know what the cost is for MRs digital archive? There is no price information anywhere on their website and my emails to customer service have gone unanswered.

(Tongue in cheek) Comment on LHS?

Checking out the Walthers online catalog prior to my trip to my local hobby shop and found this item listing. Not sure what to make of it...
