Modeling general discussion
Correct 53' trailer for UPS...
What is the correct 53' trailer for UPS. Looking to model some if I can. Obviously Walthers isn't correct. I model in HO Scale. Thanks!

Weathering book
I am looking for suggestions for a great book on weathering.
Thanks
Scratchbuild of my old church roots.
This old church is where I spent many Sundays in my youth. I photographed it on 4x5 film almost 35 years ago and decided to build this model of it from the photograph you see. This is by far my most enjoyable part of the hobby, Merry Christmas and happy railroading.
Cantwell and Chenoa RY company rework
My initial attempt at laying out Chenoa and the mountains was a dismal failure. While the engines would make the grade with a car or two only, operation was no fun at all. Because there was an open grid benchwork underneath that meant I had to install a net under the whole thing or suffer the consequences of engines hitting the deck. So I reworked this:
A couple of open top loads
Had an itch to do a couple of open top loads.
First up is an Insley K-12 backhoe, used, in transit from a west coast equipment dealer to somewhere requiring an eastward move (have to use the OPSIG database and INDMAN to determine shipper and consignee). Backhoe is from Woodland Scenics, stripped off the cabling, replaced with 0.2mm brass wire.

Warning about bad business practices from Backdrop Warehouse
I purchased a city backdrop from backdrop warehouse. Its an HO scale 12' x 24" I paid $250 for the print. When I received the print it looked horrible. I called them and told them I have a defective print. Norm at Backdrop Warehouse then proceeded to tell me this is not defective and that its the arch in St. Louis.
He then tells me that it is on their website and that I should have seen this partial arch. He said when he that because its scaled down to HO it cuts off part of the arch. I tell him he shouldn't be selling this, and it looks bad.

Weekly Photo Fun - Dec 22-28, 2019
It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em. There was a late-comer in last week's post. Check it out, then come back here afterward.
Parting out my collection
As much as I love model railroading, op's sessions, the forums etc and everything that comes with it... this is taking up too much of my time. I am struggling to keep up with the everyday basics of cleaning and cooking and maintaining my home, so something has to give. I will be getting rid of my collection.
Below is a list of what's available. Serious inquiries only, and please don't insult me with low offers. Please be paypal ready.
Thanks for reading and understanding...

Prototype Photographs 2020
Hi All,
Went to see some trains today with my camera. Found a couple scenes that you might enjoy looking at.
In the spirit of the holidays I'd like to share them with You.
Hope the ensuing year is Happy, Healthful and Prosperous for you.
I’m looking forward to see your prototype photos too again this year.

MRC Tech 6 Sound Controller
I'm about to purchase the MRC Tech 6 Sound Controller plus MRC's add-on Handheld. I have about 200 analogue locomotives that I still want to run with 20 sound-equipped DCC locos. The DCC locos include Athearn Genesis, Atlas and BLI. Any of you guys added the MRC controllers to your layouts? Can you please share your thoughts on your experience - good and bad. At this stage, I don't think I could justify the expenditure of going completely over to DCC and having to convert all my analogue locos. My wife would file for divorce!
Bye for now,
