G-Scale Christmas layout questions
This is more of a fanciful Christmas display train rather than an attempt at a new G-Scale layout. I would like to some day have a nice garden layout to compliment my HO layouts. But that will have to wait.
Middle school model RR: getting up to date
I’ve been “away from my blog” for too long! This was a tough year, but we did make progress on the railroad in my classroom and I’m finally able to devote a bit of time to sharing it.
Adding wire to telephone poles?
I am modeling my first N scale layout and am wondering if I should run wires for my telephone poles. It seems to me I see lots of photos and videos where there are no wires, just poles. Is the detail so unnoticeable that it doesn't matter? I'm sure it's a matter of taste but I would love to know others thoughts.
Nice little utility pole tutorial
I was browsing through You Tube and found this little tutorial on HO utility poles. I don't know the poster but I liked what he did and how he kept it budget friendly. I just thought some others here may also enjoy it

Which forum covers layout room lighting?
Which forum covers lighting?
I had a place on my chain saw that needed some lighting. Most of the layout is lit with 48" T12 w/1 4000k and 1 6500k tube in each fixture. I like the look of the light and plan to use this scheme to light up the "Big One".
I took the plunge and decided to try the PDC Mike Rose led boards.
Two reasons:
1. space constraints. There was not enough room for another 48" T12 fixture.
Attaching diesel shells to the locomotive frame. Broken P2K Shell Tabs.
Hi everyone,
I bought a P2K SD9 that runs and looks great, but when I bought it, all of the plastic tabs on the shell that held it in place were broke. The shell slides on just fine but is not attached to the frame at all. Have any of you run into this issue with P2K locomotives and if so, what were your solutions to it? Is there a way to keep the shell on while maintaining access to the motor?
Thanks.

Would this setup work for LEDs connection?
Hi guys,
I'm back with a question about DCC decoder and LEDs. I have to connect 4 LEDs to the front and 4 to the rear (2 for headlights and 2 for ditchlights each side) on my next loco. Instead of having a gazillion wires inside the shell going from the decoder to the LEDs, would this be a possible solution?

The new LCC (Layout Command Control) Standard?
There's been some discussion of the new LCC (Layout Command Control) standard that's an add-on of sorts to DCC to allow an accessory bus to take command traffic of the DCC command bus, leaving the main DCC command bus to just be sending train commands.
Let's continue the LCC discussion here.
