Forced perspective within a large structure

I'm familiar with using structures, people, vehicles, etc. of, say, the next smaller scale to help create the illusion of distance.

Just wondered if anyone has tried something like this within a structure - maybe a long warehouse heading away from a viewer. Not selective compression, but actually foreshortening the back wall somewhat and angling the side walls accordingly.

May be more work than its worth?

Union Pacific from Las Vegas to Yermo California

Hello, I'm new here, it looks like this is the place to be. There is lots of info on this forum!

I currently building a triple deck HO scale layout, based on Union Pacific's line from Las Vegas to Yermo Californa. Just wondering if anyone knows the name of that subdivision?

Thank you in advance!

Mike.

Easy Model Railroad Inventory reaches a milestone.

EMRI has reached a major milestone, 500 Likes on its Facebook page. It is nice because it is a way for me to know the program is still appreciated. It is not easy for a software program that is not advertised or supported in any way other than contributions to succeed. I believe Easy Model Railroader has. Thanks to Bill Brillinger and his company for hosting the download. Without his support EMRI would not be available.

Looking for layout design advice

Have a common room available for a potential layout and I'm looking for advice.

Room size is 3 meters wide by 4.7 meters long but only about half length is available. Thus available for layout is approximately 3 X 2.4 (10' X 8'). North wall has a small window high up (not a problem), west wall has a window after 2.4m (8'), east wall has a door after 2.1m (7') opening outwards. South is open space in common room.

Ballasting and ground cover

Spent some quality time in the man cave this weekend ballasting and laying ground cover. I have two short videos on YouTube if you want to check it out.

Pumpkin Orange on the way... Update #3!

Good day all,

I started working on another project since my HLCX 3857 is done. Some may remember the GP-35 that went into a bath of alcohol? Well, it got out all shiny and new (not!) and work has begun.  I'm modeling QGRY 2500 GP35E, an ex-SP GP35 as you can see with the light positions.

Following the prototype pictures I found, I added as much details as I could.  Again, this model is based on the proto version, but is not identical! Here is a link to a proto pic: http://www.railpictures.net/photo/166646/

The magic smoke escaped...

I have two Overland Models CP Rail C424s that I recently upgraded with loksound decoders.  The first one (4250) I did a few months ago with a Loksound Select Alco C251 decoder and a sugar cube speaker. The second one (4236) I did a couple of weeks ago with the newer Full Throttle version.  While upgrading the second one, I went back and added extra pickups to both (OMI models from the 80's only picked up from one rail per truck) as well as a second speaker.

Scotia Supply Photos

Mostly finished with Scotia Supply. Some interior details. Added led lighting. Real glass windows.Scotia Supply
