I want to make some handrails for some SD40's I am kitbashing. Are there some templates available for bending the rails into the shape they need to be? I also have a SD45-2B that I want to make handrails for too
Thank you

Room Air Filters
When working on plastic models of any sort I have been using Faller's plastic cement called Expert. Nasty stuff as far as smell goes and not very healthy either. Is there a safe plastic cement?
I can use a fan and blow it all over the house, it's a small house so my wife will really not appreciate it.
So the question is how do the rest of you handle dealing with the fumes? I'm thinking air filter, but what kind? Room size is about 11ft square.
Thanks, Jack

Looking for system's maps for Buffalo NY for late 1990s
So far Google is not my friend! :-\
I am trying to find system's maps for the Buffalo, NY area (actually for Erie and Niagara Counties) for the late 1990's. I need to find out which railroads served where.
Supplying Power to a Rotating Object
Good day, all - I have been experimenting with a wireless method of supplying power to a rotating object. Things like illuminated, rotating signs, turntables, and other kinetic devices sometimes need power. Traditionally we use slip rings and brushes or similar contacts.
These can be troublesome and hard to maintain.
I have come up with a way to use the circuitry that is employed to wirelessly charge a cell phone to supply several watts of DC power to a rotating device.
I have posted details (including a video) here:
LED Recommendation
I have several HO Miniatronics Brass lamp shades made for incandescent lights but I prefer small warm white LED lights if they fit into the shade better than the incandescents. Can someone please recommend the proper size LED (mm length x width) to use with these fixture.
1) Can I purchase the LEDs with wire leads already attached to fit into the lamp shade?
2) I have an existing power supply that puts out 9v DC at 400 mA.
Thank you for your help.

The real costs of doing the hobby?
MODERATOR NOTE: On the December MRH Arduino article comment thread, there was a discussion point made about the "true" cost of the hobby being how much your time is worth - the Arduino might be cheap hardware, but if you spend a ton of time trying to figure out how to program it, time is money, too. So to keep from derailing what was a how-to thread with hobby philosophical discussions, we've moved the most relevant parts of the philosophical discussion here.
Looking for Keystone Locomotive Works F Unit Cab Instructions
I've just pulled some of my kits out of storage, and found that a mouse (apparently a fan of EMD F units) ate a large chunk of the instructions to my Keystone Locomotive Works HO-3301 F Unit Cab Interior kit. The kit itself is still intact, but the instructions... well, they're more like swiss cheese. If anyone could post a scan of the instruction sheet, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Janet

What is it with international postage rates?
I recently sent a parcel from the UK weighing 4 kilos (9 pounds) to a friend in the USA for $32.00. It went by UPS and got there in 2 days. This week, I bought three kits and a scale lorry from GCLaser and the shipping was $22.50, which I didn't think was that bad.
I have just checked on the JL Innovative site for a small kit "East Junction Yard Office" and the postage is $10.00!
Don't you just hate it!?????
Earlier this week I posted a "blog" asking for help re cheap rip-off air brushes.
Went down stairs this morning looking for something else, and checked a few of my(10) boxes, BIG ones, and low and behold what did I find.... A braided hose for my 'rip off air brushes'.
