DCC Engine to DC Track.
What needs to be done to a Full DCC engine to run it on a DC track? Should I be stocking up on DC engines or will there still be DC engines in the future.
Thanks,
Whoa Mule

Roll your own CC&WB
I have attached three files, an Access database that lets you generate your own car cards and waybills (plus a zipped copy of that file) and a Word document that describes how to use it.
It is uncompiled so you can modify it to your heart's content. The only thing I do not give permission to do is to sell a copy of it or use it as the basis of an application to sell. Its freeware.
CAVEAT: You HAVE to have a copy of the Microsoft Access database program to run it. It won't run in anything else. Sorry.
Ram Board for backdrops
I went to Home Depot today to get some tempered hardboard for backdrops. All the way there I was thinking about how to curve it around the corner of the room. I didn't come up with any good ideas. Pushing my cart up the aisle I saw these rolls of stuff called Ram Board. It's a very heavy tough cardboard type of product for protecting floors on a job site. It measures .04" thick. A 38" wide, 50' long roll costs $30.
HO Scale C&EI Cement Hopper
To All: This C&EI Cement hopper is on a down grade train on the layout. I weathered the car using oil based paint on the sills and Weathering Solutions Decals for the cement streaks. Photo by Elvin Howland. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. St. Louis Rail Group Layout.

Cleaning acrylic paint brushes
When using water based (acrylic) paints, what's you preferred method of clean up? Sure there are "brush cleaning solutions" sold at the hobby stores but the strike me as nothing more than dish soap.
I just found a youtube video where this guy claims to clean dried acrylic paint out of his brushes using Vodka:
Seems a little expensive, but if it works as good as he claims it might be worth it.

TT Scale "TOMA"
I ready to start a TT scale TOMA module. I have 6 track plans firmly decided upon for building. I'll present the first one now. The track plan came for the December 1963 Model Railroader called Western Logging Co. I've made some 3D drawing with major dimensions of the module.
This is the track plan for the first module.

Plaster Cloth
For those that are about to spend your hard earned pennies, here is a great way to save a little over the typical hobby store purchase.
http://www.orthotape.com/plaster_bandages_4_inch_gauze.asp
I know that some may say to buy at your local hobby store and I agree, but this is for all intence and purpose the exact same product at a much cheaper price. I also like the fact you can buy different size rolls.

Decal Work
Just wanted to share some of the decal work that I have been doing over the last month or so. I have a pair of Kato RDC-2 units that needed some ID markings. While digging thru my box of decals, I found some “Turtle Creek Central” decals that were purchased several years ago so they were put to use on these units. The following video shows the RDCs & some other items.
Allagash paint color
Looking at Mikes diesel #701 anyone know the green color, it's listed as spruce green? in the down load, can't find ., but I like it. Is there a paint that matches ? Thanks Zeke
