N Scale small switching layout
I have a good HO scale layout in a 1200 square-foot room in my basement. I am five years into it's construction and enjoying the continuing improvements and now operating with 8 to 12 friends on somewhat of a regular basis. I have an area in my workshop in another part of the basement I'm considering putting an N scale switching layout in. I am running my HO railroad with the RailPro system by Ring engineering and absolutely love it.

Gordon Gravett books on grass, trees - excellent!
Not much layout work in the last week or two - due to lots of work, plus happy stuff like graduations. But I have finally gotten a few books on grass and trees by Gordon Gravett - generally not available in the US but by far the best I've found.
Need CAMA throttle
Since so many are going DCC, does anyone have a CAMA transistor throttle they would like to sell reasonable? N gage please. Building layout, too many good DC engines to change, many can not go DCC, so I am stuck for help.

More LokSound Conversions...
So as a little project to get back into the layout after a a break for about the last month I decided to install some more LokSound - Select Direct decoders in my non-sound locomotives.
The first project was a Athearn - RDG RS3 #445.

Blackening Phosphor Bronze wire
Hi,
Do any of you here have any experience with blackening phosphor bronze wire?
I have some that I need to do this to for a project I'm working on.
Thanks.

North America's Most Advanced Layout Exhibit | Our Home and Miniature Land
I know, the title will toss a few over the edge and does break into the realm of click bait. I believe it to be true.

Loco runs on Sprog...not on EasyDCC
Okay, this is very, very weird.
I have an Atlas MP15DC that I just rewired with a LokSound Select Direct decoder. My workbench DCC setup is a Sprog2 using JMRI and on it it works just fine - easily programmed and tested with all sounds working (and adjusted).

Video on my MANUAL MAGNETIC UNCOUPLERS (on / off position)
Here is my system for uncoupling, I have 27 on my small 22" x 13' layout, one at each position that I would want to spot a car at or break a train at.

Random Thoughts on a car card & waybill system
Or.... How to potentially thoroughly mess up an operating session.
I've always had mixed feelings about the traditional 4-cycle waybill system. It does seem to work, normally, but it also seems fairly maintenance intensive - all the waybills have to be flipped between operating sessions and the like. I did not become a model railroader in order to do paperwork (which is also why I'm figuring on a TWC system instead of TT&TO). It also seemed like it had a certain lack of randomness.
