Time to prepare for next winters Pine tree harvest

Hi!

Depending on where you live, it´s within a month or two time to start planning for next winter Pine tree harvest.
I made a tutorial of the process.

One-way Runaround?

I found this little runaround that appears to be still active but has the switch stands removed at the far end, at the turnout leading to the industries and at the turnout for an abounded industry.

Running List of Historical Research Resources?

I don't know if MRH has a running list of resources for modelers researching historical information, but I thought starting such a thread might be useful. Organizing into different themes might be useful too. I think more experienced prototype modelers tend to think that everyone already knows about this stuff, but than a question pops up and people have never heard of them before.

Thoughts?

JMRI OPS

Hello all I just started using JMRI ops starting small so here is my scenario have a grain elevator that has a spur that can handle 3 hoppers it except empties and returns loads .

Another use for coffee stirring sticks

Another use for those green stirring sticks from that corporate coffee company is uncoupling. I trim off the bottom circle and file each side down to a point and use them to uncouple cars. Easy to find on the layout because of the size and color.

"Universal" Wi-Fi Throttle

For about two years I've been working on a Wi-Fi throttle that will work with any JMRI system. I had a working throttle about a year ago, but got side tracked. I'm now back working on it and would like to get input from people. This is a project I'm doing by myself, and there is a model railroad manufacturer who is potentially interested in selling it for me. First of all, here is a rendering of the next generation (I'll post some photos of previous iterations below):

Places to visit in Houston, TX

Good Evening to all,

A quick question for those you who live in the Houston, TX area or anyone who might know.  I am traveling to that area tomorrow and I am looking for local hobby shops and or model railroad clubs that may be open to the public.  I always make an attempt to visit local stores and clubs whenever I travel to new areas.

Also, any good rail fanning locations would be greatly appreciated as well.

12 or 24 volts for LED layout lighting?

As more of us change over or start lighting for our layouts LEDs are becoming a go to.  I'm writing these questions not only for me but for the general modeling population.  I'm sure there are a lot more questions and answers left.  It might even be time to start a topic!?!
