Getting Started with TruColor

I am getting ready to start spraying a few models with TruColor.

This will be my first time working without Floquil, so tips and pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Couple of notes,

1. I am using an airbrush.

2. I plan to use TruColor, I have already purchased the paint. lets try to stay away from the "I would never use that" or "I use ...... paint"

Just looking for help/tips/etc for those who have used TruColor.

Thanks,

Fowler box cars by Accurail

Has anyone seen or got one of the new Accurail Fowler box cars? I'm wondering how prototypical they are in regards to modeling the CNR types.

Besides eBay and Brasstrains.com, where do folks go to search for HO brass steam locos?

I monitor both of these on a regular basis and just wonder if anyone else has a good place to search.  I'm more than a bit nervous about eBay given the price of some offerings there and the rather sparse descriptions often given items.  I'm looking for moderate size rodded locomotives but particularly for logging (either geared or rodded) in standard gauge HO.  Many places I used to look appear to be out of business or at best very inactive.

Maybe we should go back to assembling kits

I have been reading about factories shutting down in China and people say why don't we move production back to the US.

But what ever happened to the time when we went to the hobby shop bought a box of parts and assembled our own kit ??

US manufacturers can shoot the parts and sell kits, but would you by a kit and assemble your own freight car?

Almost all of my freight cars have been assembled from kits, lets get back to modeling !!

Kentmere

Kentmere is a station in a "shadow box" on a lower level, it is connected to the rest of the railroad with a 3 turn helix that represents the Kentmere Branch.  The industries are a combination of the Kentmere and Rockland Branches.  There are the J.P.Bancroft textile mill, Brecks flour mill, and the DuPont gunpowder works (the prototype is now the Hagley Museum and Library).

HO scale Steam Engine Connecting Rod Repair

Hello-

Have an HO scale Proto 2000 Heritage 2-8-8-2 that has a connecting rod that fell apart. Can't find the little rivet that held it together. Any suggestions on how to repair the connecting rod?
