Soldering joint in a minute
I'm a subscriber to a general technicals news site.
They show up the following link and I just found this product, never try it but seems very easy to use and for sure a great help for any electrical connection job…….knowing we have just a few to do on a layout

Trying to build a layout but need some direction
Building a cool model railroad is complicated! I have read lots of articles, belong to a few blogs, bought most of the how to books and so far finishing my basement was the easiest part. I have a CAD program and have drawn countless drawings and every time I find a new "little thing" that fits better or cut something out because I am trying to get in too much. I have been thinking about my railroad for so many years that I actually worry it won't be built in my lifetime.
CN offset triple hopper
Does anyone know when CN replaced the smaller lettering on their triple hoppers with the 12 inch lettering?

Steam Boiler is Different fron Smokebox and Firebox
From my models of PRR steamers plus photos of other steamers, I've gotten used to the boiler being fairly dark - blacker in a B&W photo, compared to the smokebox and skirts of the firebox which are more gray or silvery than blackish.
For my current project I have been looking at photos of locos built in the late 1800's. In many of them the boiler is more gray, and the smokebox is blacker.
Please offer wisdom on why the difference.

The Carwash Kitbash Part 1
IN this series I'll be taking another Atlas Carwash and turning it into a Service Station for the club layout.

What's on your workbench? March 2020
It might not look like much, in fact it may look a little odd, but this will be the first locomotive I've installed ditch lights on. Here the SMD LED's are fished through the shell, and they've been wired to the DecoderBuddy (one of the very early ones).
The ditch light mounts are Details West DL-229 parts, currently having the canopy glue holding the lenses in drying.
HO MOW Equipment
Help Please! I am new to the HO scale hobby. I would like to purchase prototype HO models of MOW equipment that are of high quality. I have identified Lacey Models as one source. I would appreciate any other suggestions of who makes prototypical/highly detailed HO MOW models. I have not been able to find any of latter using several browser searches.
Thanks!
