Turnout Control in 2021
So after putting it off for YEARS i finally need to choose a way to control my turnouts, So i am looking to see what options are available in 2021.
The givens

Street lights
While traveling to LA I found this and thought it would be perfect for those people who like to add electrical doo-dad's to the layout.
This is in front of the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting, they have an example of many of the street lights they use in different parts of town. Each light has a little plaque indicating in what part of the city it was used. For the person who likes street lights on their layout, this would allow one of of everything.

Three-Point Suspension, Car Trucks
Wobble - a problem of car weight ?
... I hate is seeing cars " wiggle" over the slightest bump.
No, I think absolutely not a problem of car weight!

Fine Tuning Autorack Cars
Fine Tuning Autorack Cars
I have been going back and checking sections of track on the bottom deck of my layout in preparation for my FIRST full powered run around the room in a few days (or a week). This has involved soldering up the rail joiners and hooking up all the feeder wires to their bus wires.
Undaunted by field repairs
Apparently railroads can do some high echelon field repairs if needed. I was familiar with the rip track concept and the idea of setting out cars or locomotives for later retrieval or repair, but I never really thought about the level of work that might be attempted away from a proper facility.
I had occasion to pass by this UP facility near Chickasha, OK today. Actually I made the occasion, as it is a little out of the way but I usually go on purpose if in the area to see what may be up on the UP.
Open doors on freight depot type structures
Hi all. First time posting.
I have searched this forum but I have not found an answer to this question yet so apologies if it has been asked before.
I have an HO freight depot that I am building and I want to add an interior kit from ITLA Models but I am not sure how the doors on the kit should be positioned. Should they swing out, swing in, or slide open?
Detail Observations of 44T project
I am in the 44 T decorating phase of my project, painting has progressed.
While observing a photo of MEC #11 I noticed the vents/louvres on the small doors below the the square Maine Central logo were missing from my O scale model.
so a fellow modeler suggested Archer transfer decals.
I ordered exactly what I needed.
looking forward to detailing duty.

TrainCat Models Manufacture of Etched Brass Models
TrainCat Models
I first saw their exquisite kits and built up models at The Springfield Show in the early 2000's they were to the left as you entered the main building.
They had a great oil drilling derrick you could modify to gas, website shows really great light tower.
Now that I am to the point I can use them I got a surprise on the traincat2.com website.
Home page has a banner "BREAKING NEWS Due to the passing of my wife, TrainCat remains in hiatus"
