Advice on computer to connect to layout

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on a computer to connect to my layout.  I run Digitrax and use Digitrax components as well as some RR Cirkits boards.  I plan to run JMRI and CATS for dispatching and programming decoders.  Other than that, the only other main requirement I have is to be able to run normal productivity software like spreadsheets and word processing.

Tamworth Landscaping

Have been away from the layout for a while, but building structures. Finally got back to the Tamworth loop (a bit of landscaping and track on the top of my helix). Placed the dairy, woodworking plant and water tower. Added static grass, a small creek and a few supertrees. Going to pause for a while before filling in the smaller shrubbery, vehicals and so forth.

Subject has changed to - Pocket change? For Car Weights

Not sure how this turned into a post on car weights.

Deleted original subject on easy track powering in a non switched location, and replaced it with Pocket change? For Car Weights

Pocket change? For Car Weights?

If you are still interested on automated powering of your track in a non switched very hard to reach location let me know or start your own blog.

Forge

The prototype im modeling has a very large facility identified as a forge. My question is, what is the difference between forge and a steel mill? And what kind of loads does it receive?
