Athearn Genesis F7 coupler/truck problem
I have looked several places and either I can't find or no one else has had this problem. After owning for several years, but not operating my Genesis F units because of the crummy MRC decoders, I have replaced the decoders with Soundtraxx decoders. What a difference! But now I have a new problem!
ME Track - Which to buy?
I've decided that the ME track looks so much better than Atlas that it is worth the difference in price to have ME.
I have heard that ME flex is harder to work with than Atlas flex. I have also heard that this is even more of a problem with the ME weathered track.
It seems to make sense to buy the track weathered because the price is not much higher and all that work is done for you. However, will I be sorry for buying weathered track?
Any advice or opinions are appreciated.

Ceiling damage not so bad
The good news is that my water damage from the washer wasn't as bad as it could have been. Thanks to the advice I received from my other MRH post I cut a hole into the drywall to help the area dry out. I also put a small fan outside of the railroad room blowing into the rafter area where the water was located. Although the water did lift the paint and some of the drywall mud, the drywall itself appears intact. The repairs should be limited to spackel, paint, and a dummy return air vent (with black cardboard inserted) to cover the cut out section. The dummy
eye test
I came across this idea in an Hon3 list. I saw a picture and I had to build one for myself.
You need them for your op sessions.

New Year, New Opportunities
It's a new year with new opportunities.
Tonight I put up a couple of the sections for my station. They haven't been up since I was in Bergen in the beginning of october.
Clinchfield Progress
Hi,
It's been a while since I last added to my blog, but I have made a little progress, the backscene on the top level of the layout is complete along one side, and I've dropped down one level to start on the next level down. The scenic work you can see from the pictures I've posted, what has also started since last time is that I have started an operating group to run the railroad. Operating Groups are rare in the UK so I decided to start my own, all being well our first meet will take place at the end of March, and I'll add details in my next blog.

MRC Speaker Impedance in Athearn Genesis SD45-2
Hello Everyone!
I have an Athearn Genesis SD45-2 that I will fit with a Tsunami TSU-GN1000 - EMD 645 sound decoder. I'm really itching to get this DSD installed but I don't know what impedance rating the speaker has. The engine was fitted with the MRC system. I know Tsunami DSD's all use 8 ohm speakers and I need to know if the speaker used with the MRC system is compatible with Soundtraxx Tsunami's. I really don't want to blow up a $100 DSD!

Mixing Oil Paints
Hi all-
As a bit of a side project, I'm attempting to mimic Jappe's concrete weathering technique that he outlines in this post. I've painting the base concrete coat on the model however I have little experience working with artists' oils and had a question. Does anyone out there have a good tip on mixing these thicker paints?
Searchlight in n-scale
I have built a searchlight in N-scale from TrainCat. A bit tricky to solder, but the result is very nice.
To this searchlight I have written a program to my LocoNet decoder that emulates the switching between the different aspects.
You can se this in the film, but it looks much better in reality since my camera is not so good.
