Strange Sound Problem With my Blackstone K-27s
Hello Group.
I have a rather strange problem with my Blackstone K-27s.
First, the particulars.
I have a Digitrax DCS50 (Zephyr) command station. I use the PR3 in standalone mode for programming. I have a two foot test track that I connect to the PR3 and I use a Bachrus test stand.
Here is what I have done for K-27 #462 but I get the same results with all four of my K-27s..

The Last Step
The drywall work in the train room is complete. Wall painting starts today. Wahoo! Paint and a little trim out will make the entire basement finished.
Custom Decals
Greetings all,
I was wondering about making custom decals and I have a few questions when making the artwork for the decals particularly the smaller stuff capicity markings and other whatnot how small of a font size will work in both HO and N scale, i.e. 1pt 2pt etc? what is everyone's experience in this field??
Thanks in advance,
Sean
Design Software
Greetings all,
A While back (I think it was here) someone posted a link to some software that did just about every type of calculation that you would need in design/building a layout all I can remember was stanstrains.com or something along those lines it was like 10-12 bucks to downoad. If anyone remembers or knows the site I'm looking for would you be so kind as to post it again I would be most grateful
Happy Railroading,
Sean
Hulett Ore Unloaders
Here is a very interesting video I came across when I was researching ore operations for a spot on my layout
I am getting ready for maybe a ore operation for my water front or I am looking into a carfloat operation. I am
leaning more towards the car float. But like I said this video was interesting.

MRH readers do click
I thought Joe, Jeff and others at MRH would like to know what they effects their readers. Maybe potential advertisers might want to take note.
On December 1st I released the gold version of Easy Model Railroad Inventory to the world via freeware and shareware sites. That is the cheapest and simplist way to try to announce software versions.
I posted the news of the release of our freeware for the Easy Model Railroad Inventory here on 12/4. Posted the same text message to the MR Forum on 12/7.
Concrete piers with sheetrock mud
I created the bridge piers by cutting 7/16 OSB to size and then covering it with sheetrock "mud". Then after drying, I carefully shape it with a knife and sandpaper. Coloring is washes of paints and india ink.
This is my Skagg's Hole Bridge, first ever scratchbuild project, on my Virginia Southern layout. The VS is the merger of the Clinchfield and Interstate, set in the mid 70's. Layout is a 27x32 HO triple decker.
Enjoy!

Curving hardboard the easy way
Here's a way to curve hardboard for your fascia or walls - both inside & outside curves:
I recently added curved (coved) corners in the train room addition using the "brute force" method. I took flat hardboard 4' x 8' x 3/16" panels and forced them into the corner. This was an extremely difficult and frustrating method. I'm getting ready to cove a corner in the expansion area and decided to use a curving method that I had used previously on some fascia board they worked very well. Here are the steps (refer to the picture below):
DC Power Packs
I would like to find some specs on the Atlas #311 Power Pack. It's DC, yep. Width and depth interest me too. Does it have holes on the back for mounting on set screws? Thanks if anyone has some info on this, pro or con.

Hydrocal castings/structure kits Pros/Cons? are they popular across scales or just in HO?
Hi all.
Was wondering about structure kits containing hydrocal(a form of plaster) castings. How do they rate as far quality, strength, detail and price and popularity and what scales typicaly use that kind of material? Not interested in a particular manufacturer just the material in general.
