Gerard's future layout
Happy New Year to you all!
Thanks a lot for all I have learnt this past year.
I hope to begin my layout this new year. I will need a lot of advice and help (to make things worse I am French, and so I have an awful lot of things to learn).
Best to you all.
Gerard.

Thanks Everyone!
To all in our railroad community for your support, suggestions and ideas so freely given:

Wilmington & Northern Branch : Creating a new timetable
My current timetable I use on the W&N is set for a 3 hour session with a 4:1 fast clock using 12 hours of the timetable. I only have 12 hours worth of trains and operate the same schedule every session. The current session has 4 first class passenger trains, 6 2nd class through freight trains and 2 3rd class locals. Currently no extras are operated. It is designed to keep two road crews busy. In addition there are two yard engines
How to Change Detail Number Boards on Athearn F3's
I am modeling the Frisco in HO scale and there are a limited number of diesel models available. I have several sets of Athearn F3's and some of the F3A's have the same number. Does anyone know how to change the number on the number board or replace the existing number board?
Thanks.
Jim
GE 23 Ton Industrial switcher
Anyone have any experience with the Grandt Line GE 23 Ton locomotives.
I am curious as to how well they run and do they have lighting etc.
Thanks.

Motive Power
I spent some time between holiday celebrations adding DCC decoders to some older engines to flesh out the Great Western motive power fleet. While I am striving for prototypical accuracy. modeling the GWRy motive power offers some challenges,
Western Maryland - Chesapeake Division - 1943 your comments welcome !!!
Happy New Year fellow railroaders,
With the new year brings me new hope that I will actually construct my basement layout this year. Hopefully even starting this week. My layout will consume a room 14x32' and be in HO scale. it will represent a line running from Hagerstown to and terminate in Baltimore in 1943. It will be double deck with main deck at 40-42" and upper deck at 58-64".

Truck Dumps, Tipples and Prep Plants
Thought I'd start a thread and see if we can get some forum members to post pictures of truck dumps, tipples and preparation plants that they have constructed. So here goes.

Advanced diesel decoder programming?
I have one diesel loco with sound on my layout. While the sound is great and all, I would like to be able to get it to sound a little more prototypical. What I would love is to have only 8 speed "notches", and the ability to coast (is that the right word?) long distances, and apply the brakes with the push of a button. Is this possible with any type of decoder without having to manually control the engine sounds? Today the loco has a ESU Loksound decoder.
I bought my Mehano 4-6-2
To anybody out there I am thinking of buying two Mehano4-6-2 locos I know these are not top of the
line locos but you cant beat the price $50.00 each from Trainworld out of NY
