Walthers Crossing Signals
I was wondering if anyone has tried these out at all, and what they think. I have a set, but I am looking at getting another for my railway. Are they good, or should I look else where?

High Water
The Corps of Engineers has been hard at work restoring the old stream out back of Elwood's place. Folks started fishin' (the DNR re-stocked the stream) and swimmin' right away. There's some environmental work to be done with land contouring and trees being planted, but it's a start. Even the new 'facilities' out back got approval from the county.

Car Cards and Waybills
Hi All,
In keeping up with the recent article on Waybills lI have posted what I use as a very simplified Car Card Waybill system that can be used on any layout. It is loosely based on the one introduced by Malcolm Furlow many years ago. Check it out on You Tube: http://youtu.be/gN_gTiJ8-VA More to come!

iPad a go-go!
I used to have a Kindle Fire that my wife got me for our wedding anniversary. I say "used to have" because once I loaded some games on it she kidnapped it and I only get to see it if she's sleeping. I was using it to read MRH among other things and liked not having a "Lugtop" on my lap.

Turnouts on Gradients
Hi,
Can someone please explain why turnouts should not be install at an angle with the gradient? Do they always have to be level?
My proposed layout has a 1.8% gradient on the left hand side from the sweep around the back of the Engine House up past the platform and on to the cross-over bridge at top. There are five turnouts in this section. If it were feasible to include the turnouts in-line with the gradient I could reduce that climb to about 1%.
Gauntlet Track Help
I am curious about the use of and the application of a Gauntlet Track in my layout.
Has anyone installed on of these Gauntlet systems on there layout?
I'm looking for helpful hints on how to make a Gauntlet Track on my layout.
This would be a good How To for the magazine.

Digital switch control without DCC
Colleagues,
For my layout (swiss style), I'm looking for a system allowing to control all swiches, signals, etc, by PC. I know that it's possible by using any digital system (DCC or similar), but I don't want to install DCC on my layout, as:
- The central units are very expensive
- I have a very extensive engine collection, and I would not like to have to install a decoder in about 450 engines
No sound until Locomotive moves (Loksound 3.0 installed)
I have Loksound 3.0 installed in my Locomotive, for some reason now the sound does not come on until I hit the first speed. I have JMRI. Could someone tell me what to change please.
Thanks
