Adjusting locomotive couplers
Okay I know how to raise or lower couplers on a freight car, but how do you lower a coupler on a diesel locomotive?? Or is this a case of " don't lower the river. raise the bridge"? Adjust all the freight car couplers to the same level as the locomotive. A lot of work in my opinion.

Corn Syrup in the early 1980s. HELP
Another question for the historians.
Looking at a facility that could possibly fit into the layout that was and still is a Juice Prodcuts beverage production facility. Currently it receives covered hoppers and those classic corn syrup tank cars.
I would like to back date this operation to roughly 1980. Any ideas of the type of tank car used for corn syrup back then?
Also what would be in covered hoppers? Sugar I assume?
Thanks,

Best new DCC throttle
I have an ESU CabControl system and I am not thrilled with the throttle. The battery is weak and the there is always something going goofy with the program. Just last night, somehow one of the consists just disappeared from the screen and I couldn't find it.
Wordless Workshop
This is meant to be a resurrection of a missing piece of the past that I have missed. It is a place that gives someone’s Ah Ha without using words. It is shamelessly reused from the same name used in a popular magazine of my childhood (just after the paper and ink discovery....) and recent past when electrons passed the ideas. I’m sure you all have a trick or tip that would take a couple pictures to pass on without words. Let’s have at it!
Help finding Asian figures
I’ve been looking for O scale figures that might represent railroad or field workers from the turn of the century up until the 1920’s. My preference is Chinese or Japanese but any Asian figures seem elusive. Anybody have some leads?

What's your choice on weathering models? (Poll and discussion)
Per a recent discussion in another thread....
What's your personal choice in weathering models? Not what you would LIKE to do... what do you actually do?
- Run 'em right out of the paint shop
- A little light weathering.
- Mild dirt and grime
- Heavy grime and rust
- Drag is out of the scrapyard

Resistance Soldering Track Jointers
I'm laying a bunch of track and turnouts in my staging areas (6 tracks around the room & 6 tracks down the center). There are a lot of track jointers (and DCC feed wires) to be attached to the tracks.

Small Layout with Big Dreams: Wolf Creek Branch
It was June 2013, I stood in a cool and inviting finished basement of my new-to-me home. It felt wonderful, my wife and I more or less finished moving in and I was thinking about what to do with my new basement. Looking back, I am not sure if this was a major accomplishment since we did not actually furnish every room for another 7 years. The basement had all the makings of a train room (carpet, drop ceilings, lights, outlets, and buy in from my spouse). I was going to have a layout. Years later this would be one of my favorite photos.
