Hornby 8f driver diameter?

I sure hope this is a simple question.  Does anyone have a Hornby 8f which they could measure the drivers on?  I'm looking at a photo, and they look smaller than many US made models.  I'm hoping that's not just the difference between HO and OO.  I'm looking for 16.0-16.5 mm ideally.

While I'm at it, if anyone can suggest another common UK or European model with drivers that diameter, I'd be happy to hear about it!

Structures on my WIHLA layout

I built my structures out of 'what I had lying around'.  Check it out here: http://www.digitaltrainlab.com/2012/11/building-buildings-with-building-blocks.html

Coal country on a shelf layout?

IS it possible to model coal country on a shelf layout? I'm having the devil's own time getting the look I desire on a shelf layout. Two feet/thirty inches just isn't cutting it for me. Photos would be helpful as well.

Bar Mills Models

What's happening at Bar Mills Models? The web site has been inactive for a few weeks.

Has anyone heard from them recently?

Layout Tour - LV

Invited by a friend, and I'd like to share and update my layout with everyone as it progresses.

I am working on a layout of the Lehigh Valley Railroad, depicted from the late 60's and into today, had the Lehigh survived.  I am trying to focus on the western areas, and have found that despite the huge size, the layout is never big enough....Buffalo, Geneva, and spots here and there.

I hope you enjoy it.

Yeah - SO! I went SHOPPING!

Being such a NOOB in most aspect of model railroading, even though I am (soon to be) 53 years old and have considered it to be my hobby for most of my life, it seems that I have actually done very little modeling!  I have built a few buildings, though only two actually got painted.  NEVER weathered a piece of rolling stock.  NEVER laid ballast.  Built a piece of hardshell scenery to try it out, but it never got groundcover or even paint!  I have built a few trees, but most of that happened when I was still young and working in HO scale.

Transition Era Switching Operations...

The construction on the TS&G has gotten to the point where I can start moving some cars around. I began researching switching operations a couple of months ago and began putting together a car card  and switch list system. Although I use my PC to make the car cards, waybills and switch list forms, I'm not using any type of software to generate the lists. I'm trying to keep everything manual. I think I understand how the car card, waybill and switch list system works. My questions though are on actual operations.
