I cannot find a recent post

About half an hour ago I made a reply to a post (A-Track software), now I cannot find the post and/or my reply ???

Did have to log in again after replying, perhaps that has something to do with it ?

cheers, Leo

Self coupling air hoses HO scale!

Stumbled across these on e-bay and watched the YouTube video.  Intersting detail item.

What is the most unobtrusive shelf system to use along walls - upper level

As some of you may have seen I have begun building my bench work for my layout. The peninsulas are going well and now its time to think about the outer walls. I would like a shelf of minimum construction with supports as narrow as possible. Maybe 1 1/2" tall ? The shelves  will protrude from the wall about 17" max. I'm trying to achieve as much space as I can between levels.

Beginning the R&SW Spur

This blog is designed to keep track of construction of my layout modeling the IC&E Rockford Sub in HO scale. The specific modeling areas include West Yard in South Beloit, Illinois and the line east of Beloit Junction, Wisconsin (the former Milwaukee Road "Racine and Southwestern" line). The focal point of the layout will be the switching operations at the Frito-Lay plant in Beloit, Wisconsin during the late 2000's and into the present day.

building double slipovers (complex)

Building a double crossover one half at a time was the key to building this complex bit of trackwork.

First I built a right hand turnout and slip switch.  Building them together as a single crossover keeps everything in alignment.

Notice the two jigs, positioned for the rails to line up.

Help with passenger car type

I am not a passenger train modeler (yet!) but, as part of modeling the OBRY, I want to include their two coaches. These coaches are used to host a scenic trip with and optional dinner.

Can anyone tell me what type of coach the OBRY is pulling in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTijHBkgmMY? The best view starts around the 3:26 mark.

If you know of an N scale version of these, that information would also be great.

Thanks!

A Beginner's Beginnings - The Layout

My first layout:

HO scale 5-3-3 Inglenook shunting puzzle designed to build modeling skills.

Dimensions not shown:

4’-0” x 1’-6” Module

3’-0” x 0’-4” Extension

NW 86th Street - First Pass

The first scenic pass for the town of Clive on my IAIS Grimes Line layout is complete. The area features the NW 86th/Swanson Blvd intersection plus the Swanson Depot Retail Center, the PDM/CB&I spur and the Clive greenbelt. It's a space about 12 feet in length, and is the first thing people see when entering the layout room.

Another update - On30 Layout - Framing the Mushroom

In this video I show how the framing for the mushroom goes together.

More Rio Grande Southern photo links updated

Well, not much of a posting today, but I have been quietly working in the background - updating several THOUSAND (and yes, you read that correctly, folks) photo links from the Denver Public Library's (DPL) Western History Collection.

All of these updates are part of my main site - http://www.rgsrr.info - where I have links to locations, equipment, and historical events.
