Strainers -

I;ve been looking for a set of strainers to sift material (ballast, dirt and stuff).  Can anyone recommend a good set with varying degrees of mesh?  I've been looking on line and most don't list the mesh size.  what is everyone using?

Truck for Tank Car N scale

What would be the correct Micro Trains truck [with coupler] for the Roundhouse 50' Modern Tank Car

[Tank Train].

Thanks

For those of you modeling Arizona railroads

In a couple of his videos he has the title Peavine.  This is a nice looking layout for N scale.

Automatic Reversing Device

I am planning to build a section of elevated subway that will run from point A to point B and back.  Is there any kind of device that will automatically stop the train at the end of the line, let it pause, and reverse direction and then repeat the sequence at the other end of the line?  I'm not sure if it matters, but my layout is DCC.

Thanks,

Peter Brown

SLIDE SHOW.. NEW ADDTIONS TO MY LAYOUT

hello every one...these are some pics of the latest addition to my layout.they were made for my "Phoenix Plastics" industry by Elvin Howland of layout concepts ( layoutconcepts@yahoo.com) i have contracted Elvin to do all the tanks on my layout. to date, Elvin has made 50+ tanks for me & i am very happy & pleased with the outcome. Elvin also scratch builds structures.

Pics of Layout (In Progress)

Here are some picturess of my layout. Your comments are welcomed, but understand that I am not a purist nor a rivet counter. Nonetheless, I was wondering do others use "manual dispatching" relative to switches and signals on a DCC system like I do? My switches are 2 pole 6 ways that let me select which aspect I need. Secondly, my ballast looks much better in person than in the pictures. It is a cheap and neat way to do it, with paint. Also as you will notice I am much farther along on the area that has trees and grass. Pics to follow.    Kyle

Major source of mechasnism noise identified

This may be old news to some of you, and it should have been obvious to me, but I never even thought about it until today.

Flextrack comparison

When I started to build my layout four years ago, I used Atlas flextrack by default simply because it was the only product of its type that was readily available in local hobby shops.  At the moment, however, no local hobby shop has the Atlas product in stock.  All contend that it is not in production.

Which has led me to explore flextrack manufactured by Peco and Micro Engineering.

Silvester Layout

Yesterday I attended the so called Silvester Layout from a friend of mine.
Every Year between Christmas and the first or second weekend in January he
held operating sessions with a modular layout at his home.
Here are some pictures and a film I made from yesterday.
