Action at Falls Tower
After months and months and months of doing nothing...some train ran. Check out the action at Falls Tower.
Falls Tower guards the junction between Penn Lake's Bourbon River and Mountain Subs, and the Delaware and Hudson's Penn Division. The Tower also controls operation into and out of the North Falls Industrial Track and R Nicholas Steel plant.
Prototype as a basis for freelancing
I was viewing this interesting Cleveland area roundhouse on Google Maps (found at 41.474953,-81.675571) and wonder about two things - perhaps someone can assist. Who operates it? It appears to be the remnant of a much larger one. History? Would seem to be tailor made for inclusion on several era layouts. Second, what is the neighboring industry that interconnects several large buildings with a long pipe system. Again, more to consider as a basis for a proto-based freelance operation.

Freight Car Weathering projects
This is my first post here on MRH though I've been following many of the blogs on here for over a year. I thought I'd start off by sharing some of my recent weathering projects. First up are a couple covered hoppers. These are Kato and Atlas 2 bay cars.
Blue flag (light) protection
I decided to put some blue lights on the shop tracks for blue flag protection. They turned out ultra bright, not because of the resistor used, but that's the kind of led's that they are. I may tame them down at some point, but not today. Kyle

Anyone interested in modeling a US Army Depot c 1950 (or a quarry)?
Loco Identification
I was given a locomotive from a friend and was told that it is roughly 40 years old. After some cleaning up, it runs like a champ. I am trying to identify the make and model of the loco (the "real" manufacturer and model), and possibly the maker of the train (HO gauge). The only identifying stamping is on the fuel tank cover and it says "Made in Yugoslavia". I'm sure that someone will immediately recognize the locomotive, but I have been looking at various photos and have come up empty.
Thanks, Rich

Staging Yard Lighting
This weekend I enlisted a couple "volunteers" to help install some lighting for my staging yard. Trains are actively staged during the session, and the lack of lighting was something of a hindrance.
