Runaway engines on a DC power pack

Was testing a new extension on my layout and for some reason my engine will run even with zero throttle. DC layout with MRC pack. Momentum is not on and no accessories. Any advice will be welcome.

Anyone able to identify these units?

I bought a layout that had these units in a nicely made box marked for a helix.

Being an electronic numpty, I have no idea what they are.

Can anyone identify what they are, their use and whether in today's modelling they would be of use to anyone.

Regards from New Zealand

Trix/Marklin C Track Opinions/Reviews??

Has anyone used Marklin Trix C Track?

What are people's thoughts about it?

I'm considering it for a layout.

Documentation for running new package of STS on Windows 10 updated

The instructions for using STS on a Windows computer have been updated to include the UniServer package. As I mentioned in the previous post, this web server / database server platform is smaller than XAMPP and simpler to deploy. There's no installation process, just download, unzip, and run it. XAMPP is supposedly a little faster but I haven't noticed that UniServer's speed is unacceptable, at least on my Windows 10 Pro desktop.

HO scale Diorama

My first wood build The Cundy Village Hotel, aka Sadie's BnB. I enjoyed the build.

Attaching Structure to Diorama Base

Looking for ideas on placing a structure onto the diorama base.  The base is carved from XPS foam insulating board shown in the first image - you'll see a gentle curve in the base from front-to-back which copies to topography of my landscape.  The second image shows a concept floor of the structure. The final floor will be cut from 1/8" plywood.  The third image shows the placement of the brick piers that will support the structure.

It finally happened (live load train wreck)

For at least 10 years I've been hauling HO sized loads of coal in circles in my garage.  I use live loads because the handling equipment is fun to model.  Until today I've never had a wreck that spilled any.  I'm blaming my concrete colored dog and her fear of fireworks though.

Additional packaging for STS software

Now that STS version 4 is making the rounds of those model railroaders interested in operations, we're finding that the web server - database server - programming language platform with which it's been packaged these past several years is occasionally having issues with some versions of Microsoft Windows 10.

The XAMPP package includes the Apache 2 webserver, the MySQL/MariaDB database server, and the PHP programming language system. XAMPP relies on some Microsoft programming libraries and some versions of Windows 10 seem not to have the most current version of them.

Florida Orange Grove

This is the Orange Grove I just finished up on my layout, in the last couple days. It is between Plant City and Tampa.
