We take a look at my layout plan, going through changes right up to laying the track.

Cheers and Happier New Year
Decoder rookie story if you are bored
I have to say I got one good thing out of Covid year one, and that is during the time when we were admonished to stay home unless "essential" (I am not), I cleared off an L shaped shelf in the garage and set up all the track and cars from the old footlocker that used to only see the light of day at Christmas. I was once an MRH subscriber and collector of all editions of the online mag until a catastrophic electronic event caused me to lose everything. MRH was the cornerstone of my lifestyle as a virtual modeler during the years of moving often.

Shipping sugar - a request of the hive mind
Okay, I've got a liquid beverage bottler (it's a Pepsi bottler) on my layout. They get corn syrup via tank car. I know they are getting sugar too, because they bottle Real Sugar Pepsi there. I suspect it's by truck.
On my layout I want it to be by rail.
Era is somewhere between 2005-2010-ish.
What cars would be appropriate for hauling sugar in such a situation?

Bringing wiring to the front Fascia
Does anyone know whether this a thing ..bringing the wiring to front of the fascis for ease of access and also can Wiring be a model with structure style flexiblilty for changing and thought it would be good for me to easily teach grand kids about how the train layout is powered but it may how me to remember what i have under there. I have just been playing around with a few ideas. What do you think?

Piko announced Whitcomb type 65-DE-19A loco
I just saw that Piko announced a brand new diesel locomotive that might be of North American interest: the Whitcomb Locomotive Works type 65-DE-19A diesel locomotive.
graphite
been looking at sources for graphite, some have a dry molly lube in them.
would this help to keep it in the plastic cup areas built into the side frames for the point of the axle to ride in? does not look like a price cut to buy even a pound of the stuff. (like who would need that much in a life time?).
A Place....
It's been a bit since I had something to share...but I've been busy. I am currently completing a rework of the wiring for one side of the layout. T have forged ahead while leaving open wires behind. I am correcting that mistake.

Does Negative Space strictly mean unused or uncluttered?
So, I have been devouring the book "Model Railroading As Art". By dumb luck I ended up with several areas that I believe fit the category of "Negative Space". However, I quickly felt the need to fill up that space.
