They build things well in Allagash country!
I stumbled across this news article today:
NEW SHARON, Maine (AP) — A century-old Maine bridge deemed in danger of collapsing proved tougher than expected when the state tried to demolish it.
The bridge across the Sandy River in New Sharon was built in 1916 but hasn't been used since the 1990s. The Maine Department of Transportation told New Sharon officials in November that it was in danger of collapsing and that the state would pay to remove it.

SoundTraxx Tsunami
I think I need to update my age old sound equipment.

About couplers
I'm sure this belongs in the category of silly questions, but the only way to learn is ask.
Kadee and other vendors offer couplers that have over-, center- and under- bars. I understand (and use) these as needed to make my rolling stock meet specs. My question is: do these over, under & center couplers exist in the real world or is this only within modeling to help us make things align properly?
Thanks!

You can search for this in the online news services. This may provide some clearance sales on electronics. Interesting how Radio Shack seems to be following the route of model railroad hobby shops. Radio Shack has always been the electronics hobby shop of our neighborhoods.

Richlawn RR V2 - Track painting
While I'm waiting for Dave at Backdrop Junction to print my order for backdrops I wanted to make some kind of progress on the layout so I decided to do some track painting. I don't have any special method, but just follow what I've seen here on MRH and in some books and magazines that I've read. The only thing that I did was custom match the rail color to an actual photo of track. My tie colors are a mixture of flat Testors colors.

1900 models - a Colorado Midland reefer
My most wished model was a CM reefer with the Indian as a logo. (That was in the time 25 years ago, when the Iron Curtain yet existed and we not have the option to buy in East Germany the loved U.S. railroad models.)
But some day I have got with help of friends one of this kits made by La Belle - an assortment of wood strips and a decal set.

Remote Controlled Locos Signs
Putting Eric Bergh's signs to good use. I have reposted in this entry Eric's signs again. Right click and save the picture for your own use. I resized in paint and printed out in Word. This is HO Scale.
Eric has made yellow and white background for your use.
