Bachmann VS San Juan Car Co. On30

Merry Christmas! Be careful what you wish for! LOL.I got just what I wanted for Christmas, unfortunately it seems On30 is not a standard between manufacturers. Case in point. The San Juan Car company Narrow Frame Tank car. My fault for not Goggle searching the product. Too Bad! The SJ car is awesome and I don't think anyone else is producing the narrow frame tank car in On30.

Automobile Traffic Lights Animation with the Arduino Pro Mini

I read with great interest the excellent beginner’s Arduino tutorial by Dr. Geoff Bunza.   See: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/17244  I decided to experiment.

First, I found 10 Arduino Pro Minis (5 volt) in China for $20.10 delivered to my door.  For $2.01 each, I’ll let a few take one for the team while I learn.

Santa Claus

Does anyone market a HO Santa Claus and in the same vein how about a sled and reindeer? My Christmas run need one by next year. Blayne

Missouri Pacific Railroad "Willoughby Arkansas" Switching Layout.

WELCOME TO MY BLOG:

Never written a blog before but always enjoyed writing and sharing the hobby of model railroading with friends.  It's also a good motivator to keep working on the layout!

My blog will cover the building and operation of my HO Scale Missouri Pacific Railroad switching layout in Western Arkansas.

BECOMING A MOPAC FAN:

Great Lakes ship Champlain

This is a model of the Cleveland Cliffs bulk carrier ship. It was mainly used for the hauling of raw iron ore from the loading docks in Lake Superior, to the ports in Ohio to be transported by rail to the various steel mills in Pennsylvania and Ohio. It is only about 2/3 done. The basic kit is from Bearco Marine. And the great looking decals were made by Bill Brillinger. See his website at pda.ca Please note the 3D letter c on the stack also made by Bill. Much Kiba shingles done, with more to go! Will post more pics when done.

Merry Christmas

Things are ramping up. Aside from Easter, Christmas is the busiest time of year for a pastor. I wanted to take a minute out to wish all here the very Merriest of Christmases. May the peace and love of Christ find you happy and healthy. For those who may not be of the Christian faith, I wish you a greeting that you find meaningful at this time of year. The most important thing is to remember to love one another.

Ontario Eastern's picture

To venture outside or not

Hi,

I am considering an idea, and wanted to seek some thoughts out. I am having a new layout done for the Ontario Eastern in a 20 x 20 ft room or 20 x 30ft room, and considering doing a small part outside, in the outdoors.  I am HO scale, and this would likely be a seasonal thing only, but wondering what people think or if anyone does this, what are pros and cons...

Another filtering suggestion.

Rick (rtw3d) had made a suggestion about filtering and being able to filter out certain users or subjects.
It reminded me of something that I've often wished was possible.  Who knows, maybe it is.  I'll use myself as an example:
