Bad news: another engine failure on the OCR

While running around the loop, Boston and Maine GE 44- tonner (ex-NP 628) cut out, and is stuck in neutral! With 110 out of the running, the only available power for mainline trains is the GP38-2 still undergoing a re-do, the 8304 (Rock Island), and the 2026. The 1684 is currently waiting on a tender repair, and all other locos besides the RDC car are broken down for some reason. The road needs a diesel at current, so the shop crew has decided to try repairing DT&I 8111 again.

And some stock cars...

And here's a few of about 15 Proto2k stock cars I built and modified to look kinda like D&RG or RGS cars (although these are std-guage)

Some structure work

It's been a while since I posted, but I have been busy, mostly at the workbench, and mostly w/ structures.  Here's some recent ones.

TDS Supersonic Speakers

Has anyone purchased the new  TDS supersonic speakers from Tony's Train Exchange? I've seen two Youtube videos where they have been used (Eric Fiske) but I would like to get feedback from viewers before I consider making a purchase. Thanks.

Hand Laid Tie Spacing

I'm about to build a jig to position wood ties so that I can put a strip of tape on them and then glue to the road bed. I've been seeing varying measurements for the spacing (on center) what do you use for main line and siding?

Research as a hobby

I'd imagine I'm not alone in the model railroading community with a lack of space for a layout.   However, research of a specific prototype location, its industries and traffic has been a rewarding substitute for physically building things.

Motive power for Hobbs End

Hobbs End has 3 diesels on it's roster.

The first is an Athearn BB SW7.To this one I added roof mounted air tanks and spark arrestors. It is painted in the railroad colors, maroon top, black bottom with yellow lettering.

More layout pictures

First a little heads up on the structures on the layout.Mostly all are scratch built using either DPM wall units, sheet styrene or wood. I also tried to scratch build as many other things that I could including truck and flat car loads, and other details. I also kit bashed a lot of my truck details such as adding wood decks and on trailers various lengths and wheel arrangements.
