Resin casting

I'm interested in learning how to make resin castings.  Could someone point me to an article or website that would help, or perhaps post a reply with tips, technique, etc.

Also, has anyone had experience with benchtop injection molding?  How are results?  What kind of costs to get going?

Thanks

All-door freight car build update + more

Here is where I'm at with the Arcata & Mad River all-door.

Undecorated locomotives. Anyone know who has them?

Does anyone know af any companies where I could get cheep (under $100.00, or less) undecorated locomotives? I got some back in Febuary 2010 at a train show, and the custom-paint bug bit me after I completed one of them, and I would like to get some more to work on, dispite my restricted budget.

Delaware & Hudson Consol Scratch-Bashes

My friend Greg has a wonderful talent for taking Spectrum Consols and turning them into Delaware & Hudson heavy Consols.

Any Suggestions - Identifying Locos and Rolling Stock

Hello All,

I have been enjoying MRH immensely since I have found it and hope someone can help me out.  I admit that identifying all types of locos and rolling stock is not my strength and wondered if anyone could suggest websites that allows you to find pictures and information to solve this issue.  Part of the reason is I am trying to identify ages and uses of items I currently have so that I am using the appropriate ones on my layout which is set in the mid 1930's.

Any help here is appreciated - Thanks!

My new Class 27 on its first run on the layout

Last weekend I attended a FREMO meeting in Hanau, with my Isle of Skye Railway modules. There I made a short movie showing my new Class 27 in action.

Cannon boxcar ends + build update

Here is an update to my A&MR all-door build:

Here are the base layers for the doors installed.  Also visible is the "holy" gusset plate on the end of the sill.  On my last post I had a picture of the center plug doors.  Since then I realized the spacing was incorrect and had to re-make them.  The correct doors are shown above.

Selfless Brit dedication to trains.

Just saw this news video. We Brits take our interest in trains very seriously!

Not recommended for US practice, even though the US trains are much slower.
