Locos - Rolling stock (general)
Still likes trains
I have an N-scale Con-cor Hudson made in Japan. In the process of repairing a wire, I lost one of the motor-brush springs. Finding a needle in a haystack has nothing on finding this spring. Con-cor is a wash-out for parts, so I was wondering if anyone has any locos for sale as parts or motors or the pieces I need. I have heard some of these locos were notorious for not working very well, this one pulls very nice, and as it belonged to my late mother, I very much would like to get it up and running.
Accucraft AMS On3 C-16 Reviews and comments
I am interested in purchasing a Accucraft AMS On3 C-16. I have never read any reviews on this manufactures products and would like to get somee feed back on the product line, specifically the On3 C-16.
Comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, David Karkoski
Love it or hate it!
News Flash! Unusual loco sighted on the Richlawn Railroad!
(Tongue in cheek) :-)
So, I saw this "extremely rare" L&N loco on ebay and I just had to have it! I knew that it is so rare that it never actually existed, although some double cabs were actually produced. I believe the "Janus" must be the name of the builder (basher). Whoever did the work did an o.k. job.
Prototype Inspired Penn Lake Railway Paint Scheme
Developing a locomotive scheme can be tricky...I took the easy way I out and copied a prototype example. Since the Penn Lake Railway is partially owned by the Delaware and Hudson, it wasn't much of a stretch to use elements of the D&H's first diesel scheme. In fact for several units, I just bought D&H units and replaced Delaware & Hudson with Penn Lake
Weathered Rolling Stock (2010)
Finished up two weathered cars... Nothing super special, just a quick blast from the airbrush.
Custom load from Grand Central Gems, on a McKean centerbeam.
Weathered exterior, still need to work on the interior.
Testtrack & sound
A short video of my cow-and-calf On30 diesels.
Based on Roco h0 BR215 chassis and each fitted with a Tsunami 1000 ALCO 244 sound decoder. All very new to me but great fun !

More completed freight cars
You're probably thinking that I am cranking out freight cars at warp speed, but most of these projects have been in various stages of completion for several years. Recently I decided to clear out the workshop and get current with my various projects. Last year I finished and painted all of these cars, and this year I decaled them and am now in the weathering and finishing touches stages. Here's the latest:
Finally Gettin' Some Streamline Passenger Cars
I'm finally getting my hands on enough streamline passenger cars, most lettered for Santa Fe, to make a respectable Chief, still having to use heavyweights for the headend though!
