Locos - Rolling stock (general)

The SP gods are smiling. . .

I just got an e-mail announcement from ExactRail.  They are coming out with a really SWEET Bay Window Caboose.

Ah - I miss the SP and the days of a caboose at the end of the train.

PS:  I don't work for ExactRail - so this is not a plug for them.

55n3 K-27, could be built for less than $200, YIKES

Some one asked me a while back about "Modern" power in 55n3 here is my findings on the D&RGW K-27 in Scale55:

The Bachmann On30 2-8-0 matches the K-27 plans in the June 1973 Model Railroader.

It has been done in Large Scale, I never realized that the Bachmann 2-8-0 was converted to a smaller scale K-27.

Painting Sheep for My BlackStone Stock Cars

I finally Found some sheep for my stock cars and they each need painting as they are all pure white. Anybody ever see pure white Sheep other than Marys' ?

I have been looking for 3 years for sheep for my stock cars. A little more that 15 months ago I found 2 packs of 4 sheep each pre painted for $8.49 and said no way!! Some body out there has to make un-painted sheep in bulk for less money.

Mild kitbash of the new Bachmann 2-6-6-2

Not being satsified with the look just decaling the new Bachmann 2-6-6-2 to represent a SP MM3 articulated I decided to go a step further by replacing the air compressor heavy smokebox front with one better representing the class MM3 of which there were 2 originally running on the Verde Tunnel & Smelter line near Jerome Az.

Modelling the Santa Fe "Super Chief" and other Santa Fe Trains Prior to 1971.

I am looking at modelling Santa Fe's Super Chief and other SF passenger trains between the late 1950's and 1971. Could anyone tell me how many full length Dome Liner cars  would have been in service on any one train. Bachmann have a reasonable model of this style of car.

Where can I find a Custom Class Decal?
