Coloring Rock Formations

I am having difficulty in coming up with a color formula for a rock formation which I created. The color that I desire is more of an orange brown (see picture below). This scene was taken on a vacation to Colorado.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wreckers Reef

I found this unusual Florida coast themed layout while surfing the net.  It is very well done!  I recommend everyone looking to build a shelf switching layout take a look at this.  There are 48 pages on the build and it is recent.

Two Switches

A new layout with only 2 switches....

The time has come in my modeling journey to try something new.  I have decided to follow the minimalist approach of less track and more operation.  Thanks to Lance Mindheim and others online, I have decided to build a layout with only two switches.

Planning, how far do you go?

I apologize to Geoff A for derailing his Using Scrap Plywood Roadbed thread. Before the error gets compounded I thought I would start a separate thread.

Dave B and I bantered around layout planning what and what does not matter. Frequent readers know I lean very heavily towards plan to the nth degree before building. There are others that barely get a track plan roughed out and off they go cutting wood.

LINK TO YOU TUBE CHANNEL

This a link to my you tube channel. If you are interested in the videos of the many model railroads that I have visited and will in the future please connect and subscribe to my channel that way you will get to see all of them and receive a notice when one is posted. To the 100000s who have watched and asked all of the great questions thanks.

Those that have requested specific videos I have a list and will shot it as I do it on my layout.  Like the last one Track painting.

More Uses for 3D Printing Around the Layout

So you have heard all kinds of things about what modelers are doing with 3D printing to assist in their rolling stock, locomotive and structure builds. How about some some more basic items to spruce up your layout?

Heart of Georgia (HOG) layout by Scott Perry - modifications

There was a post earlier this morning about the HOG layout asking if it could be run point-to-point along with a few answers.  The post has since disappeared (marked as spam?) but I wanted to share some info about my modified HOG layout.
