Switching Layout - Take Two
About a year ago, I began building a layout. I had decided I wanted a switching layout. I knew we would move out of our apartment eventually, so I decided to build it in sections so that it could move when we eventually did. I drew up some plans and began building. It was an L shaped layout, approximately ten feet by 11 feet.
Future Project
Here is an industry I plan to model. The problem is the eastward facing turnout. This is a double track main and the turnout is on the eastward. The only option I see is to flip the turnout and make it westward facing. I dont think that wouldn't look right on the eastward since all the other turnouts on the track are eastward facing. Any thoughts?
Getting started... shelf layout plan
Long time lurker joining the fray…. After several years of having the trains packed away, I’ve finally secured a small right of way in a corner of the basement family room. The plan below is for a 12’ x 6’, L-shaped HO scale layout for switching now and potential expansion down the road. As much as I think modeling a prototype road would be great, I’m more interested in getting out of the armchair soon – even if the effort turns out to be a chainsaw. So I’ve created enough of a back-story to get started.
