SUGGESTIONS FOR A MODULAR LAYOUT
HELLO RAILROADERS !
I AM AKSHAY AND I AM FROM INDIA , I WANT TO MAKE A LAYOUT WHICH SHOULD HAVE A YARD , SOME STATIONS , ONE OR TWO JUNCTIONS , INDUSTRIES AND SOME MINES !
BUT I WANT ALL THIS TO BE LESS THAN 150 SQ FEET .
I NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS!
Shelf Layout Turnout Options?
I've been working on a new shelf expansion on my layout. This section is 59" from the floor and the track is no more than 16" deep. There are two main lines running through the middle and they will be on cork 3/16" thick. The yard spurs off to the sides will be on foam 1/16" thick. The roadbed is 1" foam insulation board on 1x4" framing.
Xtrackcad layouts?
does anyone know where there are a lot of downloadable Xtrackcad layouts to choose from. it would be nice to have a start point just to tweek
thanks
I think I got a winner!
After a couple of months of idle work, I thing I have came up with a layout extension plan. My current table is 3' x 4' and is an oval in N scale. Now I will be modeling my favorite parts of the modern day Wisconsin Central Neenah Subdivision. I feature places like the Wiouwash State Trail, Dale, Larson Co-Op in Larson Wi, Waupaca Foundry in Waupaca, and the yard in Neenah Wi. I created this in Paint.NET with the help of Bandicam, Anyrail layout design software, and Google Earth. Satellite pictures are copyright of their owners.
best program for drawing your layout, opinions?
i have seen a lot of people use different programs to illustrate their layout, what do you think is best
Reconsidering the reach....
I'm looking at the Morris section of my trackplan and preparing to build the benchwork for the Paterson Grain terminal.. It occurs to me that there is an area where I will have very poor access.
I don't expect to need regular access to this hard to reach zone, but I am wondering if I should change the benchwork to lessen the reach here.
Here is the area in question:
Lynchburg, VA. One city, three railroads - has it been done?
Over the years I have often thought that Lynchburg, Virginia would make an excellent model railroad subject, and that it would be a blast to operate. While I have no plans to build it myself, it doesn't stop me from dreaming about it. I'd like to hear what others think, and to know if anything similar has ever been done.
Because this post is getting long winded, I'll break it up into pieces below.
Small Unique Industry
While researching for industries to incorporate in my layout I came across this operation that was unique to Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. (I don't know about any other areas of Canada). Shipping Christmas trees.
