Badger service

Just a basic kudo. Or, kudu if you prefer.

Sent my Badger 200 off to the company about nine days ago to extract a broken tip and do a general cleanup.  Today it's back in my hands and working like new.

The airbrush was bought some time in the 1980s and has had pretty steady use. This is the first time it has been in for service -- the tip snapped at the thread while I was trying to remove it for routine cleaning but all has been repaired. All it cost me was postage and the price of a new tip.

Thanks, Badger.

Container Trains crossing the Red River from downtown Shreveport to Bossier City, Louisiana

It was last Saturday.  My wife had volunteered to paddle a Dragon boat for a practice session in the Red River.  I had her camera.  I was taking some photos.  I thought I would share with everyone.  The Red River has two large railroad bridges at Shreveport that cross over into Bossier City.  This one sits between I-20 and Hwy 80.  This bridge was built to turn one section to allow river boats to pass.  In all the years I have lived here I have never seen the bridge open before.  Enjoy the photos!  Oh!  This was a practice session so

Ho layout benchwork

Hello everyone! I have recently joined this blog because I am in the hunt for a new ho layout (benchwork only). The thing is that my dad doesn't have time to build one or have the skills to wire it etc. I hope someone can point me in the right direction to someone who does benchwork for ho layouts. I live in CT so having it be someone local would be convienent. My email is gmen4life1001@yahoo.com. Thank you

See what I found today....

.... but as is rather long will be in the next post. Hold your breath!.

Harvest Season at Rock Ridge

This year's drought has not had much effect on the grain harvest around Rock Ridge. I finished up some scenery work around the elevators this weekend and thought I would share a few pictures.

Announcing Easy Model Railroad Inventory Update Version 6.0

Version 6 of Easy Model Railroad Inventory has just been released. The following describes the additional functions and how to download the program.

Not in Canada ?

I was looking at the bridges on ExactRail's website and decided to order one for my upper checkamus canyon project. The bridges looked good and were only $31. When I got to shipping it was $25!! I decided not to order one. It seems companies charge excessively for shipping to Canada. I ordered some track warrant pads from Micro Mark for $10 and shipping was $15.I think the whole Ebay/internet ordering thing is not practical in Canada.

Easy Model Railroad Inventory

Hi all,

I have been trying to find the site for Easy Model Railroad Inventory and it seems it is no longer available. No matter what I try, I can't reach the site:  easy-model-railroad-inventory.rclsoftware.com/index.htm that everywhere I read tells me this is the site for the software. Any help would be appreciated

Wonderful Surprise!

While having a great breakfast out this morning, my sweetie informed me that we were going to play trains tomorrow. Since my layout is far from allowing it's first locomotive to operate, I was a bit puzzled. Turns out we will be heading to Portola, CA to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum and I will be piloting an F7 locomotive for an hour. I am excited... I will have pictures to share.
