MRC Light Genie

Currently I am using an SPST on/off push button to turn on some lights.  The lights are powered from an old DC power pack.  The push button is mounted in the layout fascia.  I want to eliminate the push button but still use the power pack as a power source.  I know the new MRC Light Genie can do a lot of things.  Can it be used to just act as a SPST switch?  Right now I do not want it to power the lights, just turn them on.  I some one could tell me how to do that I would appreciate it.

Thanks

SoundTraxx Support

I always get a warm feeling when I read of others having great support from suppliers of products, so when I get excellent service I am compelled to acknowledge this to others.

I needed to send in a dodgey Econami 100 to SoundTraxx for a look-over. I received back a brand new item just last night, no questions asked.

The round trip to the USA and back to Australia took just over 2 weeks. Pretty awesome.

DCC uncoupler topic: Where did it go?

There was quite a good discussion on the pros and cons of DCC couplers as of last night, April 8. Well, perhaps the OP didn't think it was so good -- seemed as if the manual-uncoupling users were winning some points in favor of their less expensive method.

Wondering where it went to. It's not here this morning

Over 50 and still modeling in N scale?

Well, tough as it is to admit, I'm almost f-f-f-f-fifty-f-f-f-four -- there, I said it aloud, sort of. I wear glasses for near-sightedness. And I'm getting a new layout room.

Seems the conventional wisdom in the hobby is that I should move on from N scale to HO or something larger when designing the new layout. The ol' eyeballs just won't be in 10 years what they are today. Neither will the fine motor control muscles. Larger is better. Easier to see and work with. And don't end your sentences in a preposition.

Quick Question about "phantom" posts...........

Yesterday evening I was checking new posts and I saw an EZline post about Keep Alive circuits from Bruce.  There were 18 posts listed.  When I opened it, I started reading them and noticed they were all back in 2013, I went to the last post and it too was from 2013!  This morning it was gone.  How/why do these things happen as I think it's happened before.  Curious............

TMTV

Hey Joe, not looking for anything for free, but just wanted to say great job on quantity and quality of the videos on Trainmaster TV. I have to admit, I have not watched every one of them but the selection is there for everyone. I have not subscribed to any other magazine or MRR offerings in a long time, but I can not imagine their video selection or quality is anything to compare to TMTV and especially for the price.

Railpro

I would like to know form anyone who uses this system if they also have a DCC command station installed on the layout were they run both systems together. The reason I ask is i have read in a few places and even on Ring Engineering web site that there loco modules in a loco can be run on a DCC layout using their controller. I am currently setting up my layout with a Digitrax DB150 command station and have started to set up sections using the PM42.

USB to Serial Cable wiring for Pro mini

I recently purchased a usb to serial cable (as per the recommended unit). The picture on the ebay listing does not match the actual wiring in the 6 pin header. Not even close! In the description of the ebay listing it states the wire designations as shown below:

Red wire: 5V
Black wire: GND
White wire: RXD
Green wire: TXD
Yellow wire: RTS
Blue wire: CTS

That is how the header is wired. The red wire (5v) is on pin one with pin six being the blue wire.
