Operating with a model conductor?
I subscribe to Tom Klimoski’s YouTube channel and enjoy videos he takes of his excellent Georgia Northeastern railroad.
He just posted a new video where part of the video shows a conductor on the ground and also riding cars. This got me thinking about the use of a model conductor in operations. Has anyone incorporated a model conductor in their operating scheme? I think it would be fun to utilize a conductor in operations both on the ground, throwing switches, and riding cars.

My University Project moves on - Freight Car Routing
I am busy working away on the project. Although it is, supposedly, a software project, the University sees it as a project report. I am expecting to have a working prototype to accord to the the original design once the course ends but the University deliverable is a 10,000 word report. To help me develop this, I have created a blog where I am slowly developing the ideas.

speed matching
I have heard the term used and I understand the need for speed matching; but, has anyone posted the specific procedure as to how to speed match a DCC locomotive? In other words, How do you do it ?
Broadway Limited steam locomotive drive wheels
I am trying to find new drivers for my Broadway Limited Power House 2-8-2 locomotive ( L&N J-4 #1776 ). The model is no longer in production and BLI does not have any replacement wheel sets. Does anyone know of a source for parts other than BLI?
Thanks in advance.
Athearn F7 coupler parts
Hi everyone I have an older Athearn F7 Loco that is missing the front coupler cover. I found the part number on the Athearn website but they want me to buy a pack of 12. Does anyone have one that they could send to me. I would be willing to pay for just one. It would be greatly appreciated. Send me an email to keithcoyle@hotmail.com if you have one. Thanks

Uncoupling tool holder?
I ran across an interesting item when I was dining the other day at Noodles & Co. It’s called a Chopstick Buddy and it would make a great uncoupling tool holder.
Dine at Noodles & Co. and pick some up for yourself. Different colors, too. :-) The cost is right – free.
One could shave down the chop sticks to make usable uncoupling tools and then glue or screw the Chopstick Buddy to the layout fascia. The sticks pop in and out of the holder.
LokSound consisting
Hi!
I have 2 Athearn Gennesis SD70ACes with LokSound select directs and the 73825 v8r5 up to date sound files installed. I run on an NCE Pro radio system.
I like to run the two locomotives in a consist but have noticed that they fight when descending a 1.8% grade with a train behind. I've trimmed the front one to pull a little harder because if they fight in a corner or the lead locomotive lags in a corner the ditch light lock horns and one tips over or derails.

Diesel Servicing
Since diesels can run in either direction, how do they show accumulated mileage on the engine, or do they go by running hours for service only? Or is it a combination of running hours and mileage?
