Removing the cab from HO Bachmann Spectrum 50T Climax?

I just want to pull the cab off of a recent two-truck HO Bachmann Spectrum Climax. Removing the obvious two screws on the bottom loosens the cab but, it doesn't fall free! Something in there is hanging up! Bachmann's exploded parts diagram is of no use either.

Short of blindly disassembling the entire drivetrain to expose the boiler and frame screws, does anyone happen to know if there is in fact an simple way to remove the darn thing?

(Not real eager to give it a HARD yank!)

New Bachmann N-Scale Sound Equipped 2-8-0

Got one these from MB Klein this afternoon.

From the diagram has the can motor like the 4-6-0.

My guesstimate is a 15mm diameter speaker facing downward  in the tender.

Full Soundtraxx Economi with all the sounds.

Runs and sounds really great, am impressed.

Acid Tank Car Unloading

I happened upon this YouTube video while looking for modeling examples for the Walthers tank car loading rack. It is kinda long and a little more detailed than most will probably want to watch, still, I think it will help with detailing of acid tank cars and the associated unloading racks and piping.

Atlas N scale RS-1's

Can anyone tell me why, oh why, Atlas is releasing a new run of RS-1's that are not even DCC friendly?  Did someone turn back the clock to the 1980's while I slept?

Installing Atlas 2 part couplers in DCC GP38-2

Hello,

Atlas were nice enough to send me a replacement truck assembly for my new Trainman DCC GP38-2..unfortunately the rear truck was spinning.. Anyway in my trial and error of disassembling the body, which was no problem except for the mini tooled in screws under the fuel tank holding the chassis to the weight, I dremeled them out..voila problem solved. Locomotive runs as it should. :)

Brass 2-10-2 on 24" radius

Dear all,

I am planning my dream layout. I have two brass SP steam locomotives, one 2-10-2 and one 4-10-2, both

from Westside/Katsumi.

May I expect they would run OK on 24" radius?

Other steam locomotives I have are given for a minimum radius of 22". But these are recent models so I

don't know for my old brass ones.

Any input from experienced users? Thank you,

Where to find Athearn parts ?

Does anyone remember the good old days when there were more blue box parts than there were kits?

So, here we are with Genesis locos and cars. Sometimes, people have put the parts on the locomotives and cars. Many other times, modelers have either managed to "cake" on the glue or have left the parts off completely. The problem with either scenario is that the parts are now missing or are needing replaced.

Gloss Coat Options and Decaling Solutions

I'm sure this topic has been raised over and over here but im struggling with everyones recomendation to the one product "Future"

I have recently tackled a bunch of car building projects while I take my time building my layout room I wanted to make a dent in my rolling stock fleet. At the moment they are mainly Tichy kits and some resin kits to come.

Boxcar cement car conversion

I am looking for any information on which train lines ran the USRA single sheathed boxcar converted to a cement car. I have a Tichy model with no decals. I currently model Seaboard Air Line early-mid 60s (pre-merger).

Thanks,

Ben

dcc sound volume

I recently learned from my "sound vs no sound" post that you can mute the sound on locomotives, but can a guy control the volume of the sound, and or have sound for the horn and bell only?? The volume on my Bachman blasts over the volume on my Athearn, and  I have not yet ventured into higher end DCC with sound locomotives until the new proposed railroad budget gets passed by the war department...aka my wife..
