How to distinguish a newer Bachman On30 porter

I am looking at buying a On30 Bachman Porter from e-bay but I believe they have been improved etc over the years, how can I tell which are the newer ones.

Do the numbers on the end of the box give an indication

Hand of God car

Tonight I was on my way to my first op session (Yes it was fun) when i was stopped by a crossing signal.  A CSX train was coming out of the port of Manatee and in it was the "Hand of God" car.  Pretty cool to see something reported here first.

Trim Film

I recently tried to use some trim film to do some patching.  I have never seen any instructions on how to use trim film so I thought it was just like a decal.  I could never get the film to come off of the backing in one piece.  Does anyone have any good tips or instructions on how to use trim film?  I think it would be a valuable thing if I can get it to come off the backing correctly.

Louisville and Nashville Passenger Cars

I am a bit stumped.  I cannot figure out what color the L&N's passenger fleet was in the late 1930's.  Any of the color photos I've seen of them are from the 60's and they are all blue with yellow lettering and stripes.  My best guess is that they painted them in a standard "Pullman Style" scheme of green with gold roman letters.  Any help given is greatly appreciated.   Ron S.

OO scale cars

I have a few OO scale cars, how much different do they appear on my layout than HO? Are the sizes that noticeable?

Uncoupling

We now have some of the best models we will probably ever have, Assembled rolling stock and engines, DCC, sound, constant lighting and most running like Swiss watches, while still being reasonably priced. But uncoupling cars is still in the prehistoric age! I have bought or tried most ways to uncouple cars, but nothing seems to work all the time. Lifting a car to uncouple just ruins any kind of realism you're trying to accomplish.

Genesis and Proto 2000 Performance Problems

Ever add locos to your roster and feel this urge to stomp them into oblivion soon thereafter?  Time to vent!  Let's consider a couple of examples...

Opinions on two Locos...

Hi,

I'm looking at a couple Loco's and would like to get a few opinions on them before I go ahead....  I'm looking at a Gensis GP38-2 (Milw) and a Proto2000 SD9 (GN), both DCC w/sound

These would be our first venture into DCC and I want to make sure I'm not making a mistake with these ones..

Also, a rookie question... When the specs say "separately applied", does that mean I will be applying them, or just that they are not part of the molded structure?

Thanks!

-Stephen
