Dual Dissimilar Speakers for Better HO Steam Sound

When I introduced the idea of Dual Dissimilar Speakers back in 2006 it fell on deaf ears.

This really works, one speaker is full range say 220-20000Kz and the other has a middle range of about 550-6000Kz which gives a "woofer" sound:

I did the HO Bachmann Decapod before Bachmann offered them. I have a "what I did" at:

Tsunami in an On30 Bachmann Mogul Video

From my Tsunami in a Mogul article:

Dual dissimilar speakers were used one full range and one-mid range to give it woof.

Coupler for an RS10

I have an N scale True Line Trains Gold series Loco that now has a broken coupler. I have not gotten too far into changing all my couplers over to Micro Trains yet so I am not all that familiar with them yet. I looked at the conversion sheets on their site but nothing is mentioned for True Line Trains. Can anyone assist me in getting the right one for this loco?

Thanks

locomotive power

I got a question. Let's say that you have a 6,000 hp locomotive. How much pulling force would that equal in ho scale. Also is there a math  formula  for this ?

scratched 6 axle whalebelly phosphorus tank car

This car was the smallest of the railwhales due to the weight of the load. I built it using a Atlas LPG, kaolin tanker and a plug from a Athearn 62' tanker to attain the correct length. It hauled 22,500 gals. I also added several new photos of some of my older models.

Thanks for looking, Bobby

Update of HO Old Time Bachmann 4-4-0 Sound

I have updated my "what I did" to reflect the use of a Mabuchi # FF-030PA 08250
motor:

http://www.pacificcoastairlinerr.com/1879/bachmann_4-4-0/sound/

and a PDF at:

There are only nine pages in the PDF not ten as indicated.

G Scale Couplers

So I've started modeling G scale. Looking at putting Kadee couplers on and looking for input. In HO scale I like #58's (scale size). Looking at Kadee's website a lot of the couplers seem to be offset from the shank, is it possible to use all centerset couplers? How about body mount for locos/rolling stock?

The rework article is at:

The motor has been changed to a Mabuchi # FF-030PA 08250 from the article motor. The decoder is a Soundtraxx Tsunami Light Steam.

Thank you if you visit

Help with my Bachmann Berk

I'm having trouble keeping my Bachmann 2-8-4 on the rails. It's a very handsome engine (just like the prototype) and a good runner and decent puller. But the lead truck just does not want to stay on the rails. It doesn't like turnouts, crossovers, or the smallest imperfection in the track. The wheels jump the rails and cause the rest of the loco to derail.
