Which Kadee for the Bachmann 0-6-0
Hi Everyone.
I have a Bachmann USRA 0-6-0 which I bought considering it as a switcher. However, I didn't look too carefully and ran it out to pick up a box car. Only at that point did I realise that it had a dummy coupler on the front.
Firstly, how comes a switcher gets a dummy coupler (I have two Bachmann 2-6-0 moguls and they have proper couplers at both ends!)?

Where to buy Trinity 4-Bay Covered Hopper?
Anyone know where I can buy HO scale Trinity 4-Bay Covered Hoppers for my Ethanol Plant? Like the one's Walthers currently has discontinued? I'd like to be able to buy a bunch at a time with different road numbers if possible. Preferably without an ethanol company's logo on them already. (I made a similar type of purchase of nine 30'000 gallon PROCOR tank cars in sets of 3 from Athearn). I'm not having a lot of luck with internet searches and ebay.
Thanks in advance.
Determining screw size
I have a brass passenger car that has pre-tapped body mounted pads for a coupler pocket. I don't know what size or thread screw fits the tapped pad. I tried a 2-56 but it was too large. Short of buying a whole mess of different size and thread screws, is there any way I can determine what size and thread screw is needed?
I considered gluing together a coupler pocket and ACC-ing it to the pad but then I'd never be able to replace the coupler should it become damaged or lose the spring.

New product - Steam loco running board steps
I thought some folks might find these interesting or useful. I've created a set of running board steps (HO scale) to be 3D printed at Shapeways. They are based on Southern Ry. prototypes, though I suspect the same basic design was used by several railroads.
Scratchbuilding an O scale Baldwin S-12
I love those old Baldwin Diesel switchers and I want one for my small switching layout. I have a few HO Stewart Baldwins, but nothing like that is available in O scale – only 3-rail engines with that horrible twin motors China drive and a few Brass models, but these are rare and you need a fat wallet. So I thought if I cannot buy an engine, how hard could it be to build one? Will I end up having a nice loco or if it will go directly to the scrap yard? Well, I will soon find out.

Backdating a Walther's Jordan Spreader--How do I do it?
I have an unbuilt kit of the Jordan Spreader by Walther's, I'm assuming it's fairly modern in design, but have failed to locate any images of earlier versions; I'm in the 1920's. Here's a completed version taken from the net; what needs to be changed to backdate it?
Thanks!

Scale drawing of CP wide vision van
I'm looking for a scale drawing (any scale) of a CP wide-vision van (Angus Shops), like those produced by Rapido. I haven't had much look on the scale drawing websites. Maybe a reference to one in a back issue magazine? Thanks.

N Scale ore cars
With Atlas now releasing Alco 630's, and other motive power that could be painted up for the Cartier Railway or Quebec North Shore & Labrador, I'm wondering if anyone has tried to tackle producing ore cars suitable for these Quebec railroads?

My O scale (2 rail) crane
I'm almost finished with this model! It started life as a MTH 3 rail toy crane. I converted it to 2 rail and added a S-Cab R/C system to control a Stanton drive. The S-Cab radio is mated to a Tsunami sound decoder and powered by a LiPo battery. The tender car is a modified Intermountain composite gondola detailed with all of the gear used by a crane. I have a blow by blow blog going on the A&O Railroad website:

Motor and decoder selection (Athearn Alco PA1)
What's the best motor to install in a Blue Box Athearn Alco PA1 which was purchased as a dummy? Also which sound decoder could be used? New to upgrading my old roster to DCC. Please help.
