I'm building some MOW equipment for the 1920's.  The railroad is quite prosperous, and so has decent stuff.  What might be loaded on the MOW or wreck train.  I'm specifically looking for what might be in an open equipment car, along with shovels, a wheelbarrow or two, and the like.  Is there any portable or semi portable powered or otherwise interesting equipment that might be in the car?

This is my first post on this forum.  I am a newbie from South Africa.  Only started getting interested in the hobby at around this time last year.  That is also about how long I have been subscribed to MRH, but I am still so overwhelmed by the skill and expertise of people on here, that I felt too intimidated to post something.

Well I thought I share a build I have been working on. I originally purchased a kit of a Class A climax from Ebay to build as I liked the way it looked.

Well I got the kit and started building it. Needless to say, I wasn't very impressed. It had been opened and some of the wood parts were missing. But the overall quality of the kit just didn't impresseme.

Years ago the disparity in prices between brass and plastic loco's was always pretty large.  Given that prices on the high end plastic stuff have risen dramatically over the years, that price difference has shrunk quite a bit in some cases.  For example, I recently came across a brass Overland Models' GP-15 with DCC in UP colors for $345 at Caboose Hobbies in Denver. 

I was always taught that the only stupid question is the one that wasn't asked.  So, not having any experience with brass myself, I thought I'd ask the experts here:
