SD70M vs AC4400CW: Help me pick my next locomotive!
Perhaps someone could help me decide what I should pick for my next train. I have narrowed down my options to either of these locomotives with a UP paint scheme. I want my layout to convey the feel of the Chicagoland rail roads and I'm pretty sure these are the most common sightings when it comes to freight trains.
Roundhouse 4-4-2 repair parts?
I'm trying to restore a Roundhouse 4-4-2 and need to locate some valve gear parts and rivets. Any ideas?

TTX Decals
I recently bought Extreme Load no. ONE and TWO from Precision Design Co. (pdc.ca) and I also found 2 Walthers 4 Truck depressed center flat cars, undecorated. I am having trouble finding TTX decals that are suitable for the car. I will post a picture of what I am looking for. Any help is much appreciated. Oh, and Happy New Year!
Cornhill & Atherton - first caboose and a question
This is the C&A’s first (proper) caboose and also my first caboose kit build.
It’s a ‘musty box old’ Silver Streak kit of around ’75 vintage and went together like a dream.
Where to get roller blocks for testing locos?
A recent video showed a loco with each set of wheels on a cradle of rollers, used for testing the loco. What are they called and where do you get them?

A project for the Walthers undec All door car Thrall box car
For years I have been looking for the perfect project for this Walthers undecorated All-Door Thrall kit. I ran across this neat decal set on the Highball Graphics site(set F-338). Here is the car getting switched out at Shaw lumber.
