How to contact Miles Hale concerning Golden Roundhouse from South Park Valley

Greetings,

I have been searching for any plans for the Golden Roundhouse in Golden Colorado that served the C&S in 1905 (the 6 stall portion).  Miles did a series on South Park Valley that I was told had the roundhouse.

I was  wondering if there is a way to contact Miles for information.  I have been unable to find plans anywhere.  All help appreciated.

Thanks Cameron

Walthers versus DPM buildings

I'm planning a Boston Back Bay / Beacon Hill scene based on snapshots taken with google maps, in HO using DPM modular pieces.  I notice that Walthers has some potential kits. Are the two brands compatible in scale? Are there other brands or 3D models that could work with DPM?

Primer and/or Paint for Polystyrene Backdrop?

I've been researching paint options for 78 square feet of styrene backdrop, and so far I haven't found any reliable recommendations or products that would be suitable for a blue sky background that will adhere to styrene. The automobile primers I've considered are only a available in charcoal gray or darker. I was hoping for one in a light gray. Ideally, I'd like to blend several shades of very light gray to medium blue to simulate a hazy horizon. I'd like to hear from anyone with experience painting a large polystyrene backdrop.

Backdrop to scenery transistion help

I am in the process of mounting Trackside Scenery Backdrops on my latest model railroad.

What are some suggestions on blending the tranistion from the base to the backdrop. Should the backdrop be right at the base or raised a little to allow for the blend.

Thanks in advance for any help

N Scale Bricks

Does anyone know where I might find scale-sized loose brick or concrete block? I’d like to consider modeling a building being torn down.

Thanks!

50's diesel fuel nozzles

I'm looking for shots of a 1950's fueling nozzle.  I've seen the modern fuel nozzles (the upside down L), but I've also seen some that look like over-sized gasoline (automobile) fuel nozzles.  I've also seen some that look like a firehouse with an over-head pull trigger.  I've scratch-built my fuel stand but without buying a fuel pad kit I plan on scratch-building the nozzle too, or having one 3D printed maybe.

Any help here?  HO scale, BTW.

Weathering coal chutes

I have completed an Alchem model of a coaling tower and accompanying  cinder conveyor.  Both have chutes.  I would assume that when the coal/cinders come down the chute that they would scrape any paint off so that there would be bare metal with rust along the edges. The model  is etched brass painted with a dirty black flat color.  Has anyone weathered coal chutes?  How did (would) you do it?

Industry choices for a given number for car spots (and car types).

Hi all,

I am in the process of deciding/finalizing what kind of industry to have on a final module on my layout. I have a spur that can hold 3-5 cars for this specific industry (3-4 on a straight line hopefully i can bump it to 5) . The era is the late sixties, locale is Los Angeles - Pasadena. The industry is going to be fictionally placed in east LA, somewhere between LAUPT and south Pasadena*.

The choices i am considering based on preferences, locale, etc... are the following:

1. Automotive parts manufacturer

2. Aerospace parts manufacturer
