Printable texture and Matboard building plans
HI all -- ive been fooling around with matboard structures from team track models, and I think I want to do some more, does anyone know of any good sites for plans, or more importantly, textures that can be printed and affixed to the structures
Thanks

City street widths
Gentlemen -
Can someone please point me in the direction of where one would most likely, or be able to guesstimate, the width of a city street? Now, I know that that is a relative term - Are we talking modern, WW2, or pre-depression......Main street/thoroughfare, side street, or alleyway.....Sidewalks or no sidewalks (as I am sure all that has a bearing on things)???
Honey, I really, really, want this Hudson! pretty, pretty, PLEASE'...

Plastic Wood and wood putty for layout scenery?
Has anyone used DAP Plastic Wood, or another brand of wood putty for scenery on their layout?
What did you use it for? Any issues, concerns or cautions about using it?

hair spray
ok i have painted the glueshell mountain and painted another layer of glue then added ground cover now the underside of the ground cover is dry i experimented with wet water to seal the ground cover and it seemed to change the color a bit. can you use hair spray to seal it without changing the color?

Two Story Depots
In the post "RIGHT ON TRACK MODELS CUSTOM PROJECT" two people expressed interest in two story stations and I thought it might be interesting to see some examples of kits, prototypes, and scratch built stations. I will post my example next.
GROUND COVER FOR FREIGHT YARDS
What is the best ground cover for freight yards?
In my particular case, I am modeling the early 1970's just after the transition to diesel, so my yard should show a history of steam, as well as the usual grime and sparse vegetation that would be typical of a well used freight yard.
I am, by the way, also going to weather my rail and ties. Also, my layout is in N scale.
I would love to know what has been successful for you and what suggestions you might have.
Modeling Sumac
Has anyone modeled sumac, the ubiquitous plant throughout the eastern U.S.? Photos and techniques would be appreciated.
Modeling corrugated steel
My buildings use a lot of corrugated siding and roofing. There are several techniques that have worked well but when it comes time to put the final finish on I have always struggled finding a gray that is convincing. Of all colors gray is the one that always gives me trouble.
Cutting to the chase.......while struggling with colors again I took a flyer and tried some paint I've had around for a while but only used for little things once in a while. I'll show a couple of partially finished pieces and will put a short explanation after.

Using decals to enhance backdrops
Has anyone ever used decals to enhance backdrops? I am absolutely no artist but would like to add an occasional bird to the sky of my photo backdrops.
