Modeling the Dubuque Railroad Bridge

The single track steel deck Mississippi River railroad crossing at Dubuque, Iowa to East Dubuque, Ill., is five spans of Parker Through Truss with a 350-foot Pratt swing span. (Pins are visible in photos.) I'm modeling the entire bridge at scale length (9-ft-plus in N scale). I will make the bridging elements with my CNC mill.

Some questions on an "old topic" - growing Teloxys (seafoam) for to make own "Super" Trees

Not sure if the person is no longer participating with this forum, or if it's an issue with the private message service, but I have some questions I can't seem to find answers in the original thread, and I was hoping he (or someone else who has planted their own teloxys) could help in answering.

Weathered Coal Tower Continues -- What I have tried

I posted a photo of a coal tower and a photo of the model of a coal tower I had made and asked for advice on weathering it .  I have tried everything that has been suggested.  Thanks to everyone who pitched it.

Rather than trying the options on the tower itself, I have tried options on sytrene which I have temporarily attached to one surface of the tower.  See photos that follow,

gluing sheet styrene to plywood

What's the best adhesive to veneer sheet styrene to a plywood sub-wall? I have a 22" wall where the surface will be Evergreen clapboard siding. The sub-wall is baltic birch plywood (with a smooth finish.) Would something like Krylon #7010 spray work well?

roadbed, cinders etc

im looking for ideas in making the roadbed more realistic on a section of track coming down a hill that sees a lot of coal traffic( setting is coal country) during the early 70s.at this point the roadbed/ballast is coal and cinders. my guess the diesels would be applying sand to the rails, what color would the residue be?

Help Weathering a coaling tower

Below are two photos.  The first is of a model of a tower I have made and the second of the prototype.  I am trying to weather the model following the proto photo.

substitute for sculptamold

Somewhere I read an article about using "Green Fiber" insulation with drywall quickset plaster as a substitute for sculptamold and of course when I'm about to need it I can't find the article.  Does this ring a bell with anyone? I'm mostly wondering the mixing proportions which I guess I could determine by trial and error, probably mostly error.  THANKS!!
