Corrugated Grain Silos
Anyone have info on the size of the corrugations on those metal grain silos that are found on farms or along larger grain elevators as overflow or addition storage facilities?
I'm wondering the actual size of the indentations and the spacing between peaks.
I have an idea for how to replicate it in N scale using old center pieces from rolls of scotch tape, but need size info for the prototype to determine what size modeling material I need.
building kit plans
Im looking for the plans to an FSM #255 G>Wilikers Machinery Wholesaler. My cat knocked it off the shelf and it is repairable but a copy of the plans would really help. Roger 512-709-3273

Working on a Walther's corrugated metal grain elevator kit and researching prototypical photos for weathering guidance. (Found some images on Google and Flickr)
If if anyone has any images or links to prototypical photos please post.
Thanks!

Problem with Model Master paint coming off with masking tape
Recently I've had a problem with Model Master paint coming off a plastic structure model when masking tape was removed.
Add strength to rock work
Some pictures of some rock work I did were shown off at school and now I have been asked to make a rock for a school play to hold the Excalibur sword in 1:1 scale. I have some blue foam board to use as a structure base and was given 25 pounds of plaster of Paris to "make it work". I'm going to use a bunch of rock molds for detail and a skim coat over all to hold the paint but I would like to harden to finish work a little so it can last to be used again if possible. Anyone have any thoughts on this I would truly appreciate it. The overall si
Is this a railroad crossing sign or something else?
I've been staring at this picture of Woodlands station (on the Putnam Division of the NYC) for about three days now trying to work out what that object on the left is:
ON3 engine house
Here are the rest of the photos of my ON3 engine house.
On3 scratch built engine house
This is my laser-cut engine house in ON3 scale I am testing mahogany plywood to give an appearance of weathered raw (unpainted) shiplap. I wanted to capture the varying shades of weathering from shaded brown under the eves, to sun-bleached, and mud-splashed at the bottom.
The window system is all laser cut by me. The 'glass' is plastic laminated to the mullions inside and out.

Pike Stuff kits
I like the Pike Stuff 2 stall engine house and have the kit. If anyone has built their kits can you comment on a few things? I have notice the groves molded into the back side of the wall panels for doors and windows are fairly wide; how did you cut out the openings for the doors, windows etc.
