Scenery and structures
Realistic Blacktop Roads.
Tried this and it works great! Thought I would share the link: http://www.telusplanet.net/public/crowley/ashphalt_roads.htm

Adhesive Question.
I am about to print-out some LARC.background scenery, for my layout, on sheets of 65 lb white card stock.
QUESTION Can anyone suggest an adhesive, similar to the adhesive, used on "post-it" notes,
in case I have to remove a card stock sheet from a painted wall? (the wall paint is acrylic latex put on four years ago )

Dirt Source
I've been helping some friends of mine do some remodel work in their house and pulled up some carpet in their hall way and discovered a great source of very fine dirt. It is a powder, no sifting needed. I will run it through the oven just to be safe. Got about a cup's worth and will get the same tomorrow
A possibility to keep in mind if the opportunity comes up.

Plaster/hydrocal and where to buy
I'm going to need soon some plaster to coat over the plaster gauze which is over the cardboard lattice subscenery.
What is the recommended type of plaster to cover over with a thin even coat? What types are used in model RR scenery and which are appropriate for which uses? I'm aware that Hydrocal has been used for many years to make rock molds, but what about covering the gauze, which is semi porous?
What are good economical sources for bags of plaster products? HD? Lowes? other stores?

automobiles sources
Hello @ all
I'm searching for automobiles of the 70s to 90s in HO.
Does anybody have a source?
Thanks

Missing airbrush part
I have an Iwata Eclipse airbrush and an Iwata moisture trap grip.
Between these two, sealing the connection, is a small, fat O-ring. It seems to be at home inside the rim of the base where the hose or other in-line accessories screw onto the airbrush.
The problem is, that while it appears that the O-ring is part of the airbrush, it doesn't appear on any parts diagrams.

Should I wait for the 'mud' to dry completely?
I covered my mountain with Mike Confalone's mud recipe over the last two days. (I watched his tutorial on TMTV). Of course, now I'm anxious to add some color - various WS ground foams.
How dry should the 'mud' be? It's a mixture of water, paint and CelluClay. Parts of it still feel damp, and thicker spots still feel a little 'gushy'. I'm okay if I have to wait, but I would like to add some green...

Water Scares Me
Back as a teen I started four layouts. Then as an adult I started two more. None of them got to the scenery stage because it terrified me! Now years later, I am trying again. Last year I built a small static diorama and finally did scenery: rocks, ground cover, trees, etc. Turned out nice, and wasn’t all that hard after all!
Except for the stream. Still not done, and still terrifying! It is time to finish that bugger and I need your advice.

Big Round Hay Bales
"Update"
I just finished the video for making these hay bales... I know it took ages but I guess work got in the way and I unfortunately picked up my daughters cold which took me out for a week or so!
Hope you guys enjoy and maybe pick up an idea or two :)
And here is a better photo as well.
Challenge of Realistic Weathering of Concrete Grain Elevators
Weathering a Walther's concrete grain elevator kit and finding the weathering very challenging even with prototypical photos as a guide. Although I think the end result will look pretty good but not what I would consider great.
The prototypical concrete grain elevator can have a multitude of colors based on original base color, age, exposure to mother nature, maintenance, etc... I have seen some pretty decent weathering jobs, most have modeled the elevator with a dark base color, but nothing that is spot on.
